Alarmed Swiss green politician: Challenging alarmist climate change claims and questioning the urgency to act drastically should be made a crime.
Climate change for some has turned into a real doomsday cult, where a small group of people has excessive control over its members and require unwavering devotion. [emphasis, links added]
The climate cult members are in fact so brainwashed that they are convinced it’s the Gospel Truth and that disagreement is heresy of dangerous criminals.
So it’s not surprising some climate cult members are calling for a Catholic Church model Climate Inquisition to root out and punish the heresy.
Marcel Odermatt of Switzerland’s online WELTWOCHE reports on how one Swiss Green politician wants to make “climate-skeptic statements”, i.e. free speech, a criminal offense.
Green National Councillor Valentine Python, 47, is calling for “climate denial” to be declared a crime.
Ms. Python believes statements casting doubt on man’s dominance over the global climate hinder efforts to educate children on the dangers of climate change, and so obstruct adopting “effective measures.”

Germany’s Pleiteticker elaborates on why Ms. Python is agitated about people having other opinions and cites a recent French study that found 28 percent of young people consider climate change to be a natural phenomenon against which no special measures are necessary.
Based on such results, Ms. Python claims there’s been a “decline in the scientific understanding of the world” and that the state needs to take action against “climate-skeptical statements.”
“She compares these [statements] to calls for anti-Semitism and racism. Such calls could lead to violence and would violate human rights. The National Councillor believes that the ‘unrestricted dissemination of climate-skeptic views’ could fall under the same law”, reports Pleiteticker.
“Python seems to consider herself in possession of immutable scientific truth. Apparently, Python is not interested in convincing dissenters, but in banning their thoughts and imposing penalties on them.”

Ms. Python is delusional and her ignorance is on full display in light of her desire to criminalize truth in science. There is a great deal of real science that makes the case clear that Global Warming aka Human-cause Climate Emergency is not real. In fact the entire premise is practically impossible. I am glad to count myself among those who are against this campaign. If anybody in my country makes an effort to charge me with a crime for what I know to be the truth, they are in for a problem.
In the 1960s (when climate science was young) about 15% of the studies concluded global cooling was coming, 30% that concluded global warming was expected and the rest were ambivelant.
Since the year 2000, NOT A SINGLE STUDY has concluded that global cooling is expected.

Any time there is a call for censorship it is because the would be censors know that their narrative can not standup to a free exchange of ideas. Making freedom of speech a crime is an extreme example. However, with climate change there is massive effort at censorship. This includes social media, self censorship of the mainstream media, and persecution of academics that oppose the climate change narrative. This shows wide acknowledge that harmful climate change theory can not stand up scrutiny.
Agreed! You would think that the alarmists would direct their bile at Beijing. All our sacrifices (for a dubious cause) are more than negated by the voracious Chinese appetite for carbon – based fuels. Why the silence, the self-censorship?
I suspect that there are two reasons for giving China an exemption. I could be wrong, but it appears that many liberals consider the western civilization nations to be bad guys, and not just with climate change. As such, it is the bad guys that should punish their citizens to address the “crisis.” Another factor is that China has contributed heavily to the climate change movement. With those contributions they have purchased forgiveness.

Though I am mostly Swedish I agree with you. There inside a high school a Muslim immigrant student forcibly raped a girl. Neither the school nor police would do anything citing, “We have to consider cultural differences.” When the girl’s parents then wouldn’t send her to school they were prosecuted under truancy laws. By the way, Swedes are from Sweden, this article is about Switzerland, which is another group of crazy people based on their reaction to the climate change fraud.
