Sky News host Andrew Bolt says doubting climate change has become a “mental condition.”
Mr. Bolt says a study of 390 people by psychologist Dr. Rachael Sharman shows those who “suffer from this disorder” of not believing climate change are typically older, conservative, and have “lower environmental values.” [bold, links added]
“Sharman does admit to one thing she got wrong: she says she didn’t expect this,” he said.
“Says it’s contrary to our predictions, but, oh, people with high analytical abilities were even more likely to be skeptical.”
Mr. Bolt said Dr. Sharman did not question why “people who are great at analyzing things are more skeptical of global warming preachers.”
“She says we’ve seen ‘predictions not becoming reality’ and ‘climate change alarmists’ predictions being completely false,” he said.
“Spot on.”

Here’s some analysis that any curious person could perform. The atmosphere contained about 310ppm CO2 in 1954. The hurricane season that year began in June and didn’t finish until January ’55! Hurricane Hazel claimed over a thousand victims, 81 people in Ontario, mostly in Toronto. How do you compare that season to this season (so far) and state that CO2 makes this one worse than ’54, ( it isn’t) when CO2 is now 30% higher? You can’t. Maybe Hurricane Ian is the worst Florida has suffered since the Europeans “discovered” it. What happened in the preceding millenia, before written history? Canada’s deadliest hurricane was 68 years ago. Political people with an agenda cherry pick everything. That’s what made me the skeptic that I am. Question everything that a politician says. Al Gore never left politics. Maurice Strong never ran for office but he was political, like George Soros. The pursuit of power corrupts.

For once a climate alarmist has come up with an accurate analysis. The only problem is labeling not believing that climate change is a problem was defined as a “disorder.” I’m sure that climate realists are on the average of older, conservative, and have “lower environmental values.” Lower environmental values does not mean no environmental values and it is hard to see just how good these values are with the climate change extremists when they cut down entire forests for fuel rather than use coal. The description of climate realists is an average. My kids, who are young adults, are climate realist though they are conservatives.
“People with high analytical abilities were even more likely to be skeptical.” should have told Dr. Sharman something. This supports the idea that climate change isn’t an issue to worry about.
My analytical ability has enabled me to conclude climate alarmists are misanthropic, anti-capitalist sociopaths.
Russell, climate alarmists – aka believers, are also mostly young, crowd followers and haven’t developed the skills to ask questions. They haven’t bothered to carry out research of their own to learn the truth about what others are telling them. This is very sad and partly the fault of their education.
I simple terms, I cannot understand how anyone can think (believe) that we are causing Earth to warm, when there is a huge glowing ball in the sky emitting massive amounts of energy and we are more powerful than that??
