Scientists have been using the year 2007 as the starting point for assessing Arctic sea ice trends for nearly a decade.
A 2015 study published in Nature Climate Change reported a “near-zero trend” in summer sea ice over the 7 years from 2007-2013. [emphasis, links added]
Another 10 years have now passed and there is still no evidence of a further decline in sea ice.
This is interesting because since late 2007 scientists have predicted Arctic sea ice would decline rapidly as CO2 continued rising – from 385 ppm in 2007 to 422 ppm today.
There were 20 models referenced by the IPCC (AR4) projecting a 40% loss of sea ice by 2050 due to an allegedly enhanced greenhouse effect associated with anthropogenic [human-made] CO2 emissions.
But a new study reveals there’s been no declining trend in summer sea ice area over the last 17 years, and “no apparent correlation” between CO2 and sea ice trends.
“The Arctic Sea ice extent is measured by satellites and varies by day, month, and year, and the yearly minimum ice extent will occur on a day of September month every year. The ice extent is much lower now (2023) than in 1978 when the satellite measurements began. However, it has not been a gradual decline. A major decline happened during the years 1997 – 2007. Before that the decline was minimal and after that period, there was no significant downward trend.”
“These data show that there is no apparent correlation between the variable extent of the Arctic and the Antarctic Sea ice and the gradually increasing CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere as proposed by NSIDC, IPCC, and others, also for these areas of cold climate.”

It’s no secret that the globalists/U.N and leftist figures across the globe have lied about what’s been going on in the Arctic for years. Al Gore said in 2007 or 2008 that the Arctic sea ice would be gone by 2013 and that the Arctic would be ice-free in the summer by 2013. You know what happened in 2012-2013? The Arctic sea ice increased! It didn’t melt. It increased. So, Gore lied to the people of the United States and to the entire globe about the Arctic.
And Gore isn’t the only one to lie about the Arctic, or about the climate of the Earth as a whole. Climate alarmists have time and time again claimed that humans and animals are causing climate change or are the primary cause of climate change. While climate change is real and does exist, us humans and animals are not the primary cause of climate change. Neither are our gas-powered cars and trucks and other vehicles and our gas-powered appliances are not the primary cause of climate change either. And if there were extraterrestrials on Earth, they wouldn’t be the primary cause of climate change here on Earth either. Climate change, mainly here on Earth, is a natural phenomenon caused by the affects of our Sun, as well as other natural causes including volcanic eruptions, etc. And it would be the same way on the trillions of other planets throughout our observable universe, even ones with aliens and alien civilizations on them. Their Suns would be the primary cause of climate change on them as well. So climate change is real and does exist on our planet of Earth and the trillions and trillions of other planets in our observable universe, but it has nothing to do with us humans and animals here on Earth or, the alien civilizations on other planets, if they exist which is very likely. Climate change is a natural phenomenon that has existed since the beginning of time and will exist until the end of time, here on Earth, and on the trillions and trillions of other planets throughout our observable universe. I mean, it’s the truth. I mean, climate alarmists and leftist figures across the globe have claimed that EVs(Electric vehicles) are much better for the environment than gas-powered vehicles. The truth of the matter is, EVs are ultra, ultra expensive, more expensive than gas-powered vehicles. They also have to be charged every 20 miles or so. Plus, EVs are more likely to combust, even when their not moving(like those E-buses that combusted in Germany a year or two ago). And other issues with EVs, not to mention that certain political figures(such as Michelle Lujan Grisham, our Governor here in NM has been trying to do) are trying to force everyone to drive EVs. This and other issues surrounding EVs are reasons why EV sales have been declining globally, including across the Western Hemisphere overall (North America, South America, Central America, Caribbean, Mexico, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, Canada, etc).
