“Just don’t call me an alarmist,” says Sarah E. Myhre, a junior climate scientist from the University of Washington in Seattle, at the end of her article for Live Science.
Yet earlier in the same article she writes of “the immense challenge of communicating the terrifying and heartbreaking (and I mean those words specifically) risks that come with climate change”.

Apart from climate alarm, her tweets feature remarks about white people and men.
The article contains some of the usual misleading comparisons used by climate alarmists – greenhouse gases “trap” heat like a “blanket” (no they don’t, a blanket traps warm air, but in the atmosphere hot air rises), and climate change is falsely compared to the smoking-cancer link.
She recently appeared in an odd video, intended as a response to the recent Dilbert cartoon on climate science, discussed by Ross McKitrick, who notes her alarmism and intent to shout from rooftops.
This is one of the problems of climate science. It has politicised itself into an echo-chamber of groupthink, to the extent that enthusiastic young activists who already have the alarmist mindset are attracted into the field, enhancing the bias further. The chances of these people doing decent, objective, professional science are very slim. Near the end, the article laments “a crisis of trust between the American public and climate scientists,” but sadly the author does not have the self-awareness to understand the causes of this mistrust.

It seems like an overwhelming percentage of lecturing climate “experts” are twenty something college students who dutifully recite the apocalypse mantras of their leftist professors.
Come back when you’ve stopped receiving participation trophies for just showing up. Come back when you’ve shed your “safe spaces”. Come back when you’ve paid 15 or 20 years of taxes and seen for yourself that the sky isn’t falling like Professor Gore has been saying for the last 30 years.

Rather than take a good look around them, they have these “devastating” images stuck in their heads from all the false prophets of climate change; something from out of a sci-fi movie (Al Gore’s, more specifically). They’ve been totally brainwashed. What can happen that hasn’t happened before?

4TIMES has a good point here. If the idea is to be an activist who positively changes the world, there is no shortage of REAL human crisis and suffering to attend to. Why focus upon such a contrived and dubious issue as man-made climate change?
The people who dedicate themselves to real causes have little time for self adulation, dressing up like Comic-Con characters,and chasing down the photographers at campus demonstrations-turned parties.
Positively motivated social activists don’t need to take marching orders from their morally derelict, tenured professors. In this insulated and protected campus world of protest, all roads lead to some form of political socialism – an ideology that has ironically for many years impoverished, enslaved, and murdered millions, of innocent people under various guises of “social justice”.
Sarah and her friends need a few more REAL history courses instead of the “progressive” fairy tales that substitute for politically corrected truth.
Better yet, don’t call her a scientist.
Their scientific method is socialist in practice. They prop each other up. Praise each other’s contributions. They’re faithful to their union. No public disention .No snitching. Stick together and the money will flow. This particular specimen has a bright future at the trough.
