New U.S. Navy Warship Frozen in Ice in Montreal Until Spring Thaw

The US Navy’s newest littoral combat ship, the USS Little Rock, is stuck in ice caused by global warming.

The USS Little Lock (LCS-9), a brand new U.S. Navy warship that has been stuck in Montreal for weeks due to icy weather, will spend the rest of the winter in Canada.

The littoral combat ship, which was commissioned in Buffalo, New York on Dec. 16, was beginning its maiden journey to its home port in Jacksonville, Florida, when on Christmas Eve, it could not move through the ice in the St. Lawrence Seaway.

The St. Lawrence Seaway connects the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean and flows through Montreal.

The Little Rock is now in a port in Montreal, waiting for the weather to improve before she may continue her journey to the Sunshine State, the Canadian Press reported Sunday.

Navy spokesperson Lt.-Cmdr. Courtney Hillson explained the Little Rock’s situation in Montreal to the Canadian Press.

“The temperatures in Montreal and throughout the transit area have been colder than normal, and included near-record low temperatures, which created significant and historical conditions in the late December, early January time frame,” Hillson said.

“Keeping the ship in Montreal until waterways are clear ensures the safety of the ship and crew, and will have limited impact on the ship’s operational schedule.”

The USS Little Rock got trapped in ice in the St Lawrence Seaway (pictured) in Montreal.

The $440 million warship, whose new homeport will be at Naval Station Mayport, was commissioned next to the first USS Little Rock, a World War II cruiser which is currently a museum ship.

The ceremony marked the first time a U.S. Navy warship was commissioned next to a ship of the same name.

Hope a war doesn’t start somewhere.

Didn’t someone open a door and stick their nose out to see if it was cold outside? Oh no, it never gets cold in Montreal even in the winter, we have climate warming. I bet none of the sailors have coats.

Suggestion – Trudeau has lots available for his ISIS terrorist foreign travelers. Surely he could spare a few as long as you give him a big man-hug and read a poem to him. He would like that. The man-child even might have extra colored socks to spare.

This makes no sense . No ice breakers around ?
With the Navies recent record of running in to things maybe best to just leave it in place till called upon .
Hard to believe considering the claim of AL Gore . Apparently the planet is having a fever. Canada isn’t called the Great White North
for nothing . Maybe that’s politically incorrect now but that ice isn’t thick enough to play hockey on .
Welcome USA personnel! At least NK won’t be firing any nukes at
Montreal while you are here .

      Why would anyone want Icebreakers
      when
The Lord G-D Al – Gore ( without rhythms )
declared in his Oscar and Nobel movie
That no one would see snow anymore much less
      ICE.

Gore has made a fortune over this lying scare tactic.

Perhaps the USA Navy should sue him for their costs.

The Russians were first in space. Now they’ve beat Uncle Sam to weaponizing weather .

      Don’t be so sure
The HAARP project in non-panhandle SE Alaska
Is set up next to the Aleyeska pipeline
And engineered to operate off of straight crude oil.
It is a mile square antenna array
Pumping gigawatts of current into the ionosphere
For the purpose of weather experimentation / manipulation.
It is powered by an immense array of specially engineered indoor diesel engines to run off of the Aleyeska straight crude.
The diesels were supposedly engineered by Cummins,
      but I can’t confirm that.

It is too bad that the USS Little Lock didn’t make the trip in 2014 when Al Gore said the Artic Sea would be ice free.

I would like to see this happen to Greenpeace or Leonardo DiCaprio and James Cameron and a whole lot of global warming/climate change wackos

NAFTA negotiators are in Montreal this week.
There must be some back and forth ribbing over this.
