Apocalyptic screeds are hard to accept from people who hypocritically demand governmental action without making changes in their own lives.
But that never seems to stop entertainment elite.
Two hundred actors, musicians, and scientists signed on to an apocalyptic warning to the world. Together they demanded politicians act “firmly and immediately” on climate change, according to France 24.
The long list of scientists, singers, artists, and actors featured some well-known stars including Tim Robbins, Bradley Cooper, John Turturro, Willem Dafoe, Ralph Fiennes, Marion Cotillard and Jude Law.
“The sixth mass extinction is taking place at unprecedented speed,” they warned. “But it is not too late to avert the worst.”
Actress Juliette Binoche and astrophysicist Aurelien Barrau co-wrote the ominous call about a current “global catastrophe,” and warned that in just decades there will be “almost nothing left.”
The French paper Le Monde published their open letter on Sept. 4, along with about 200 signatories.
“It is time to get serious,” they told governments and the world.
However, it’s always absurd to see actors and musician blaming human actions and carbon dioxide for dangerous “global warming” since their lifestyles and occupations burn far more CO2 than most people’s.

Guess I’ve missed it (perhaps because I don’t watch MSNBC/CNN/CBS/NBC/ABC) but what animals and plants are mass extincting right under our collective noses? The animals most affected by the so-called global warming are the birds and bats which are being shredded at unprecedented numbers by the wind turbines.
We all know how these celeberty idiots are always getting themselves involved in some stupid liberal projects wheather its PAMELA ANDERSON and ALEC BALDWIN and PETA or LEONARDO DiCAPRIO,LAURIE DAVID,JOHN TRAVOLTA, Etc in this Climate Change/Global Warming hoax or like Robert Redford doing ads for THE WILDERNESS SOCIETY while narrating ads for United Airlines and all this time their not saying thing about Birds and Bats being maimed by Wind Turbines even the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds(RSPB)has turned blind eye while they put politics over the birds

Remembered the perfect worsd from a play (you know, with ACTORS). The Thane of Cawdor, Macbeth quotes:
‘A tale full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.’ Those words pretty well encompass the totality of the modern play entitled “Climate Change.”
Who is more qualified to make a statement on climate change? Is it musicians, singers, artists, and actors, or is it the 38,000+ scientists who signed the Oregon petition stating that carbon dioxide had no or very little impact on the climate.
The high carbon dioxide output of those who signed the Le Monde letter can be understood. Remember that the climate change movement is highly organized with a great deal of effort behind the scenes. Those who signed the Le Monde letter probably did so because they were asked to. Signing something because you were asked to is a whole lot different than believing in it enough to change your life style.
They didn’t sign the petition, they autographed it. Prima donas like Roger Federer who lost to a low seed and complained about the heat.
