The NY Times is essentially suggesting to it’s readers that
humans are able to set the worlds temperature to a comfy zone by tweaking a trace gas essential to greening the planet . Here’s another big one to get your head around NY Times … the earth isn’t flat . It wasn’t that long ago NY was under a thick sheet of ice and it wasn’t the introduction of Model T’s that melted it .
Clearly most of the Editors of the NY times aren’t that stupid

There is a very long history of alarmist predictions being wrong. I suspect that someone at the NY times know their “no snow for the Olympics” prediction will turn out to be false. However, the climate change movement is so important they are willing to take the hit their integrity.
