The difference in the global warming scare and the Y2K crash that started in 1998 was that Y2K had a definite end date which proved it to be a marketing ploy by software companies to sell unnecessary updates to data backup systems whereas the climate change hype could go on indefinitely and that is what allows it to build and fester.
The Y2K bug, also called the Millennium Bug, a problem in the coding of computerized systems was projected to create havoc in computers and computer networks around the world at the beginning of the year 2000.
It was the day that was supposed to finally prove what Luddites and other tech haters had been saying for so long: computers — not sin or religious prophecy come true — will bring us down.
For months before the stroke of midnight on Jan. 1, 2000, analysts speculated that entire computer networks would crash, causing widespread dysfunction for a global population that had become irreversibly dependent on computers to hold, disseminate and analyze its most vital pieces of information.
When nothing happened at midnight Dec 31, 1999, half of those customers were too ashamed or proud to admit they were taken in by the scam and continue to be enticed by newer terms that refresh the scare and fear tactical verbiage.
If I told you as a pitcher that I was going to strike you out in this game, I would have only nine innings to do so. If I told you I was going to strike you out sometime in your career, the only end determinant would be the lifetime of our respective careers.
Because science has proven that the world’s climate changes all the time it would take maybe hundreds or thousands of years to prove that the people preaching climate fear and scare are absolutely wrong.
We’re constantly being bombarded with rhetoric that 97% of all scientists believe that mankind has played a role in changing the earth’s climate, but common sense tells us no large group of people on our planet could ever reach 97% agreement on anything, even the world being round!
Remember in 2006 when Al Gore got everyone’s attention by projecting the extinction scare of polar bears? He hasn’t said much lately regarding polar bears simply because their numbers keep rising and may have ‘quadrupled.’
Polar bears aren’t going anywhere except to the edge of the ice to feed on the also-not-going-extinct arctic seals.
Perhaps nowhere have the alarmists’ predictions been proven as wrong as at the Earth’s poles.
In 2007, 2008, and 2009, Al Gore, the high priest for a movement described by critics as the “climate cult,” publicly warned that the North Pole would be “ice-free” around the summer of 2013 because of alleged “man-made global warming.”
What a guy. See, you can’t just give a microphone to anybody. You never know what they’ll say.
Contrary to the predictions by Gore and fellow alarmists, we have found out from satellite data that showed Arctic ice volume as of summer 2013 had actually expanded more than 50 percent over 2012 levels.
In fact, during October 2013, sea-ice levels grew at the fastest pace since records began in 1979.
Many experts now predict the ongoing expansion of Arctic ice to continue in the years to come, leaving global-warming alarmists scrambling for explanations to save face — and to revive the rapidly melting climate hysteria.
Even more embarrassing for the warmists have been trends in the Southern Hemisphere.
Of course, all the “climate models” and “climate experts” and “scientists” predicted that rising CO2 emissions would increase global temperatures, which would melt the ice in Antarctica — by far the largest mass of frozen H2O on the planet.
Indeed, the forecasts were crucial to many of the other predictions about surging sea levels and related gloom and doom.
The number of high-temperature records in the United States peaked in the 1930s and for the last 80 years, has been steadily declining ever since.
Worldwide, the disastrous forecasts by climate alarmists have proven to be similarly embarrassing.
By now, anybody who follows “climate” news knows that “global warming” has been what the alarmist’s call the “pause” for 18 years and counting, despite ongoing increases in CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere.
- Today’s CO2 concentrations worldwide average about 380 parts per million. This level of CO2 concentration is trivial compared with the concentrations during earlier geologic periods.
- 460 million years ago, during the Ordovician Period, CO2 concentrations were 4,400 ppm, and temperatures then were about the same as they are today. With such high levels of CO2, the Earth should have been boiling.”
Contrary to the oft-repeated mantra of the media and the so-called “experts” that today’s CO2 concentrations are unprecedented, our current geologic period, the Quaternary, has seen the lowest average levels of carbon dioxide in the Earth’s long history.
During each of the last four ice ages, CO2 concentration fell below 190 ppm. At the end of the last ice age, it fell to 182 ppm, thought to be the lowest in the Earth’s history.
Why is this alarming? Because below 150 ppm, most terrestrial plant life cannot exist. CO2 levels were many multiples of 400 ppm during virtually all of Earth’s history.
From a historical perspective, an atmospheric CO2 concentration of 400 ppm is almost scraping the bottom of the barrel. Over the Earth’s history, atmospheric CO2 concentrations have ranged from 180 ppm to 7000 ppm. On that scale, we are in fact today barely above the Earth’s record lows.
I know the world wants to go green—but at any cost?
Hopefully, the world will achieve the technical challenges of discovering a green replacement to the “power” fossil fuels provide to every known earth-based infrastructure, the thousands of products based on fossil fuels, and a society willing to accept the consequences of altering their lifestyles resulting from fewer services and more personal input to accommodate losing the advances fossil fuels have afforded them.
The Earth’s climate has always changed over billions of years and very likely will continue to change, regardless of what humans do as neither humans nor fossil fuels were present during those previous five ice ages and the warming cycles following.
However, the fear, scare, and panic tactics will continue for decades to come. Those tactics have become even more extreme: what was formerly “global warming” and then “climate change”, is now a “climate crisis” or “climate doom” and anyone that dares to question that rhetoric is a “climate science denier.”
What is now clear, though, is that the establishment has no idea what those changes will be — much less, what drives the changes or how to control them.
With no end date for the projected doom of the earth, as we had with Y2K, the door remains open to continue to fester those doomsayer projections for the foreseeable future.

There are actually dead lines in the alarmist predictions. The current one is 2030. Past predictions have included 2014. The trouble is when these dead lines are missed new ones are made further into the future and the media does its best to let everyone forget about the missed dead lines.
You cannot reason or debate these people. They yell at you and claim ‘you’re trying to kill the children!’

Back some years ago some person built this art piece he called Spaceship Earth it was a globe with a human figure standing on it with cracks radiating out from where the figure stood the fool who erected it claims it was toe show this Fragile Earth poppycock and the whole stupid thing fell apart it turned out his glue was just plain useless and whats become of the idiot sailing around on the Iceberg HOLY TITANIC BATMAN A MAN ON A ICEBERG
