(h/t Raining Sky) Black First Land First (BLF) has blamed Tropical Cyclone Idai on whites and wants the African Union to demand reparations and relief from the West for the disaster.
BLF president Andile Mngxitama charged in a statement that the cyclone, which hit Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi, was “not a natural disaster but a direct consequence of the white, Western system of ecological assault for profits”.
“Black First Land First (BLF) holds that the destroyers of the ecological balance, through greenhouse gas emissions, must pay for the catastrophe that is caused by their gluttonous cultures and civilization of death.
“The multitudes that died as a result of the cyclone are not victims of a natural disaster. This is mass murder which could be prevented if the West abandoned its ways,” Mngxitama stated.
He added that those who polluted and destroyed ecosystems must pay ecological reparations to those who suffer as a consequence of their irresponsible actions.
“It’s no longer speculation – even the white man’s own science corroborates what we blacks know: Africa is paying a heavy price for the actions of the white world. The West pollutes and the West must pay.
“Part of driving their conspiracy of recolonization is to profit from disasters. The West has no incentive to stop destroying our planet. The West knows only one value and that is to make profits. If the West is not stopped soon, then we should prepare for the extinction of our species,” Mngxitama said.
“BLF calls on the African Union to demand reparations and relief from the European Union and the United States of America for Cyclone Idai. Africa is tired of carrying the burden of the destructive behavior of the global white system of power and consumption,” the statement concluded.

I’m quite sure we’re already providing assistance to the storm area, even before anybody asked/demanded us to do it.
In reading a number of articles from third world nations it is very obvious that their only interest in anthropological climate change is to get something for nothing from the developed nations. This is especially obvious just before a major climate conference is held. One dead give away is they demand compensation for 100% of the damage from every storm. If climate change was causing an increase, a more reasonable concept would be to demand only enough to cover the extra storm damage.
Andile Mngxitama said, “even the white man’s own science corroborates what we blacks know.” Like so many making such claims he is incredible misinformed. Even the IPCC says that extreme weather events are not increasing. This claim rests entirely with the new media and politicians.
Storms are not racists, but Black First Land First certainly is. In demanding that white man pay they are ignoring china, the biggest emitter of green house gasses. If it is up to white men to pay, in the US what about people of African decent, or American Indians, not to mentions Asians and Hispanics.
Black First Land First can make demands, but no one is going to be stupid enough to capitulate to them.

Although Idai was a terrible disaster, it wasn’t unprecedented; my dictionary tells me that ‘unprecedented’ means it never happened before. Idai was neither unprecedented, nor was it the worst hurricane ever in terms of loss of life. In the 19th century, long before any significant increase in CO2 in the atmosphere, the world saw four hugely disastrous storms:
• 1839 East India, 300,000+ dead
• 1876 Bangladesh, 200,000+ dead
• 1881 Vietnam, 300,000+ dead
• 1897 Bangladesh, 175,000 dead
To assess the degree to which storms are increasing in the modern age, the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration did an in-depth review of extreme weather in the USA in 2013. Their conclusion:
“ There is no discernible connection between Global Warming and the extreme weather events of 2013”.

The storms are NOT “bigger than ever before” or even “growing bigger”…
They’re definitely More Damaging than Before because humans have multiplied their numbers and amount of building and infrastructure In The Path of The Hurricanes and Typhoons.
