Journalists stuck in the climate alarmist, forced energy transformation mode are in a pickle. One hopes they can find another employment short of changing their views internally, a very difficult process.
But Ms. Wood is at the beginning of her career. Maybe watching this video of Richard Feynman, “The Easiest Person to Fool Is Yourself“, will help the process. And as Milton and Rose Friedman noted (Free to Choose, 1979, p. xii):
“The only person who can truly persuade you is yourself. You must turn the issues over in your mind at leisure, consider the many arguments, let them simmer, and after a long time turn your preferences into convictions.”

This is a timely article. Here in Australia, there are millions of home owners falling for RTS and after a few years (some less) regret it. They don’t save what the hyped up sales deal promised. There are roof-leaking problems for tiled roofs and replacement of panels comes up sooner than expected or can be afforded. Then, to add to the economic pain for some people, the Australian federal government is subsidising home batteries which normally cost around AUK$8 so the sales pressure is on again for RTS homes to add a battery, which lasts around one hour in a blackout.
It would be so much easier and a lot cheaper if we just built a few new coal power stations and forgot about all this renewables gear, which as President Trump has said is a huge scam.
