In analyzing UAH global temperature and Mauna Loa CO2 records from 1979 to 2021, climate researchers Lightfoot and Ratzer (2022) report there has been “little if any” correlation between these two variables during this period. [bold, links added]
They assert that between 91% and 98% of Earth’s greenhouse gas effect is from water vapor, as CO2 and other trace gases contribute less than 5% to greenhouse-gas forcing.
A solar minimum has just begun in the current solar cycle 25. The declining solar output is projected to eventually lead to a ~1 to 1.2°C cooling over the next 30 to 40 years.
Solar minimum periods are also accompanied by crop failures due to frost and weather extremes delivering excessive heat.
The authors conclude by suggesting the popularized conceptualization of CO2 as a driver of global warming has proven to be “obsolete and incorrect.”

So, what was the cause of the Maunder Minimum cold period? Why can molten salt reactors not be included? Why can’t large scale storage of electricity use much safer, cheaper and longer lasting Vanadium Flow batteries instead of the very dangerous Lithium Ion types? Is it not the case that purportedly green industries are inappropriately influencing governance to the detriment of the environment?
Until Fusion or better still comes along we can’t do anything about CO2 anyway and maybe not then either for a very long time. So have to live with it, as done successfuly til now. Thanks to Putin we now know shovelling all that cash in the wrong pockets causes war, solves no problems, we know who is responsible and whose the pockets are. We can be sure that this study will be ignored and highly censored. Climate change is not about warming. It is about a large host of causes that are hitchhiking on the movement. This includes forcing changes in our life styles such as removing meat from the table. It is about transferring the wealth of the industrial nations to the developing ones. A big hitchhiker is the huge renewable energy industrial complex that is swindling consumers out of trillions world wide.

This “stop-off” I call it, is where a good proportion of the wealth of the industrial nations finds its way in to the bank accounts of Klaus Schwab and Co.
This study will be ignored because it deserves to be ignored.
A so called study that claims: “little if any” correlation between these two variables (CO2 and the global average temperature) during this period” (post 1979) is written by people who are either liars or fools.
Anyone who takes such a study seriously is also a fool.
Probably with a strong confirmation bias.
The main point that needs to be made about the 1979 to 2020 period, and this is the truth, is that period is the ONLY time in 4.5 billion years of Earth’s climate history when we DID have a strong positive correlation of CO2 levels and the global average temperature.
Claiming no correlation in that period is a lie.
The prior CO2 temperature relationship over 400,000 years of ice core proxy climate reconstructions, was this relationship: Temperature changes caused CO2 level changes with a highly variable lag that averaged about 800 years.
That was a natural long term climate change process.
Adding CO2 to the atmosphere in the past 150 years, which impedes Earth’s ability to cool itself, by an unknown amount, is a very different short term climate change process.
Both climate change processes happen at the same time.
The warming rate since the 1970s is high enough to strongly suggest that man made causes are involved. It is a very reasonable assumption that man made climate change has existed for the past 100 years. But even with a worst case estimate — by simply assuming all warming was caused by CO2 — the ACTUAL warming was mild, and harmless, at worst. A better analysis would be that warming in the past 47 years, and greening of our planet from more CO2 in the atmosphere, has been good news. And another 47 years of similar climate changes would be better news.
Climate science requires data, called observations.
There are data for the prsent and past climates
There are no data for the future climate/
Therefore, all climate predictions are speculation.
Speculation by human beings — who have NEVER demonstrated
any ability to predict the future climate.
And that includes the authors of this garbage can study.
That’s where it belongs.
In a garbage can.
Or lining the floor of a bird cage.
