France’s Climate Change Website Appropriates Trump’s Campaign Slogan

French President Emmanuel Macron launched a climate website Thursday meant to attract American climatologists and environmental scientists to his country.

Macron named the website “makeourplanetgreatagain.fr” in a broadside against President Donald Trump, whose 2016 presidential campaign slogan was “Make America Great Again.” The two world leaders have had an icy relationship since Trump vacated the Paris climate agreement.

The website went live less than a week after France’s newly elected president criticized Trump’s decision to leave the plan, which obligated the U.S. to reduce greenhouse gasses by almost 30 percent from 2005 levels. The U.S. president believed that the non-binding accord would hurt the American economy.

The English-language website allows educators, businessmen, NGOs, and others to find the relevant contact details to help them settle in France. Macron is convinced that his American counterpart is an isolationist.

“The world is changing,” an official from Macron’s office said. “Attractiveness is relative. The US was attractive before, it may be less so tomorrow, and we may be more.”

Macron told Trump shortly after announcing his plans that France will keep open lines of communication with Washington, D.C., but the country will no longer discuss climate issues with the U.S.

Trump promised to roll back the Paris Agreement during his presidential campaign, even as elements within the White House tangled over whether to stay wed to nearly 200-member deal. The president has spent most of his administration eliminating scores of former President Barack Obama’s climate regulations.

Trump believes that his predecessor poorly negotiated the Paris Agreement and did not include workers in the process. He told reporters Thursday afternoon that the country will leave the accord, and possibly re-enter it if the plan can be renegotiated.

Once again, leftist arrogance. Earth is the only known planet in the galaxy with life on board . Let’s go back to the moon and take another picture of our “blue marble”. After 48 years it will still be breath-taking. Maybe a little greener, too. No politician or environmentalist can take credit for that.

    Macron is showing his ignorance..
More emissions result in a greener planet not less.

This guy tries to hard to do a Clint Eastwood impression . Imagine the pure genius of squeaking out an election victory and one of your top priorities is to send an invitation to raid a country of scientists . A country that 75 years years before had come over
and saved your countries ass losing thousands of American lives doing so . This is what happens when a kid gets elected . Next time Germany or Russia decides to walk into France who they going to call ? Climate scientists ? The USA should just say
    … it’s your party .

“This is what happens when a kid gets elected”

Yes, indeed! Macron is France’s version of Canada’s Justin Trudeau, another kid that got elected. Both counties will suffer the consequences.

Obama wasn’t exactly a gray beard either. Idealism succumbs to wisdom. “We get too soon old and too late smart” .
