On Friday’s Real Time show, HBO comedian Bill Maher ended his show with a commentary celebrating reports that young Americans have less sex and produce fewer children than past generations.
As he argued that humans hurt the environment, he concluded that it would be better for Earth for more people to “not have kids, die and stay dead.”
The far-left comedian launched into his commentary at the end of the show’s regular “New Rules” segment.
After an entry in which he mused over the possibility of former DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen being put in a cage on The Twilight Zone, Maher brought up studies on young people and sex:
And finally, new rule, let’s take a break from bashing millennials for their safe spaces, man buns, and avocado toast; and give them credit for doing something right: having less sex than other generations, and so less babies, which is good for the planet.
He and the audience then applauded before he began citing study results. He then continued:
But instead of asking why America’s young people are having less sex — let’s just be glad they are. Earth Day is coming up, and I can’t think of a better gift to our planet than pumping out fewer humans to destroy it.
After complaining about “climate deniers” not believing the world is overpopulated, he fearmongered about Earth’s future:
So it’s no wonder millennials are freaking out about having kids. They and generation Z are waking up en masse to the idea that, way too early in their lifetimes, the planet is going to be a shit show.
He cited New York Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortes as someone who had brought up the issue of whether young people should choose not to have children, as he also derided her critics as “fossils.”
And, after continuing to argue that humans are bad for the environment, he ended up concluding that more people should refuse to reproduce and then die:
So, please, masturbate — don’t procreate. Yank it until Trump is throwing paper towels at you. And remember, the best thing you can do for Earth is [to] not have kids, die, and stay dead.

Not to save the earth, but people should not reproduce bc life is a cannibalistic, barbaric imposition. It is a thresher of sentience and even pond scum can reproduce. We are DNA replicating meat puppets and nothing will ever change that reality. Whatever joys one may have in life, (mine has been awesome so far) it is still inextricably bound with suffering, that which we cause (war, torturing and eating animals who feel fear and pain the same as we, etc) and endure (disease, violence, ever seen what bone cancer is like? etc).
So, from a purely ethical perspective, it is difficult to argue that people should reproduce. It is always done for selfish purposes. No one ever says, We are going to have a baby for that person’s sake. No, it’s always about ‘creating our family’ ‘my legacy’ ‘someone to care for us when we’re old’ ‘that is the whole purpose of life’ etc etc. ALWAYS purely selfish reasons. How can they not be? when life always ends in death and causes perpetual suffering. We call the killing a human being a capital crime, then mindlessly and selfishly create new people bc “it is natural”. That something is natural does not make it ethical or good. The best thing is to not create it in the first place. “To beget is to increase the sum of evil.” said al ma-arri, in the 14th century. And he was absolutely correct. If you care about people and preventing needless horrors, the wisest thing to do is not create it in the first place.

I didn’t think it would happen, but I have now heard an idea stupider than the Green New Deal. That is for the younger generation with hormones over flowing to have less sex.
I always like it when the far left advocates having fewer children. Those who are most likely to follow that advice are those who are part of the far left. The fewer of these we have in the next generation the better.
Having a lot of leadership experience I can assure everyone that the most effective leadership is to lead by example. To lead by example Maher should follow Steve’s advice and leave the earth, and stay dead.
