Within hours of being sworn into the White House, President Donald Trump signed an executive order withdrawing the United States from the Paris Agreement for the second time. [emphasis, links added]
“I’m immediately withdrawing from the unfair, [one-sided] Paris Climate Accord rip-off. The United States will not sabotage their own industries, while China pollutes with impunity,” Trump said.
At the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., Trump signed several executive orders, including the U.S. withdrawal from the United Nations’ Paris Climate Agreement.

Trump pulled the U.S. from the agreement in his first term in 2020, but it took years to finalize. Former President Joe Biden rejoined the deal shortly after.
The international climate agreement that started in 2015 aims to limit global heating to below 2 degrees Celcius above preindustrial levels.
Trump signed a letter notifying the United Nations of the U.S. departure from the treaty.
“In recent years, the United States has purported to join international agreements and initiatives that do not reflect our country’s values or our contributions to the pursuit of economic and environmental objectives,” the executive order reads.
“Moreover, these agreements steer American taxpayer dollars to countries that do not require or merit financial assistance in the interests of the American people.”

In response to President Trump pulling the United States out of the Paris Accord, China said, “Climate change is a common challenge facing all of humanity. No country can stay out of it.” That is an odd statement from a country that built 100 new coal fired power plants last year.
I’ll repeat what I and others on the web site have said in the past. President Trump should submit the Paris Treaty to the US Senate. As far as the United States goes, that would kill it for good.

CCP doesn’t feel compelled to follow what the west is doing–that is, destroying their economy at the alter of “Climate Change” while China continues to do all they can to advance their economies and ambitions to be the top dog in the world.
