French and Italian climate activists on Friday were blocking entrances to the Mont Blanc tunnel in Chamonix on the French side and in Courmayeur on the Italian side to raise awareness about climate change.
The action that started at 1130 GMT was carried out by some 20 activists from Derniere Renovation (France) and Ultima Generazione (Italy), two sister organizations that belong to the A22 civil resistance movement, the joint statement said.
It was aimed at putting pressure on the French and Italian governments to act to limit climate change.

8 cittadinə e un passeggino vuoto.
Una paura maledetta, ma non per il freddo, la neve, i camion, ma per questa esistenza che vediamo scorrerci via e che fatichiamo a tenere salda tra le mani. #clima #maltempo #caroenergia #ClimateEmergency pic.twitter.com/2TMHs3PRH9— Ultima Generazione (@UltimaGenerazi1) December 9, 2022
“We are blocking the road today to open a new route for tomorrow’s children,” said Luca, 28, from Ultra Generazione.

So while those idiots block the road motorists must sit there with their engines idling while they stand in the way with their stupid signs and banners with stupid slogans on them
A young female who blocked the Sydney Harbour Tunnel recently was sent to jail. My opinion, the sentence wasn’t long enough.
This usfull idiot parked a car across the lanes entering the tunnel and locked herself to the steering wheel. Police should have pushed the car to the side of the road and left her there. A few days no food, no toilet would teach her a serious lesson.
The only reason these criminal acts happen is authorities tolerate them. Some protesters attempted to block the autobahn and within minutes the police drug them off. Also lacking is penalties sufficient to discourage such lawlessness. If the judges would sentence these terrorist to time in jail of weeks, fewer would be will break the law.
I prefer letting them suffer from their stupidity by leaving them glued to the pavement. Stuck out in the freezing weather would really suck!
