Tech entrepreneur and Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang said at CNN’s debate Wednesday in Detroit that the United States cannot prevent doomsday climate change scenarios — even with drastic economic changes — and should start moving citizens to “higher ground” to avoid flooding.
“The United States is only 15 percent of global emissions,” Yang said. “We like to act as if we’re 100 percent.”
“But the truth is even if we were to curb our emissions dramatically, the Earth is going to get warmer, and we can see it around us this summer,” Yang said.
And while some of the Democrat candidates say the United States has only ten years to avert climate change disaster, Yang said we are ten years behind.
“The last four years have been the four warmest years in recorded history,” Yang said. “This going to be a tough truth, but we are too late. We are 10 years too late.”
“We need to do everything we can to start moving the climate in the right direction, but we also need to start moving our people to higher ground,” he continued. “And the best way to do that is to put economic resources into your hands so you can protect yourself and your families.”

Owners of all property within 30 ft of sea level have to walk away from their properties and move to higher ground. Their land and buildings are soon to become worthless. This will devastate real estate values, but is something that must be done to adapt to a changing climate.
What I want to know is where would all the ICE come from that would raise the Oceans and Seas 10 inches around this great big WORLD?
I want to see this Yoyo get snowed in this winter i want t o see him getting lots of snow and marooned at his home if the M.S. Media take this dip-wad seriously
“the Earth is going to get warmer, and we can see it around us this summer,” Can’t pull the wool over this guy. He is 100% correct, for as long as I have been alive it has always gotten warmer in the summer!!! Where do they find these nuts…oops silly me the DNC has a monopoly on them.
At least there is a Democratic candidate that is a sliver of common sense. With the run away carbon dioxide emissions increase of the developing world, there is nothing that the United States or the industrial nations can do implement the decreases in emissions the environmentalists say we need. There is also the very rare acknowledge that resources are needed to deal with the climate change expected. That implies not killing the economy and investing in adaptation rather than renewable energy.
However, Andrew Yang loses it after that. He says that we must move our people to higher ground. Like most people he has listen the hype about raising sea level rather than looking at what it actually means. Even the exaggerated prediction of NASA would mean a sea level raise of 10 inches by 2100. Not many would have to be moved to higher ground.
Like all other Democratic candidates he misses detail that carbon dioxide is not causing warming, at least not significant warming. There is a poor correlation between the level of CO2 and the Earth’s temperature history. The climate model that most closely matches real world data predicts warming of 1.74 degrees.
At least he had a smidgen of honesty to admit that the U.S. is only 15% of the world’s total emissions, while acting as if we are 100%.
Politicians act as if they can change the climate. Pretty arrogant. Not happening.
May God save us from pagan zealots.
