British police are now too politicized to be effective law enforcers.
There are so many examples of this that it would take more than a dozen blogs to document. That is telling in itself. …snip…
The latest glaring example of police feebleness is the Metropolitan Police’s disastrous handling of the doomsday climate cult, Extinction Rebellion (XR).
Since these wannabe anarchists began disrupting the streets of London, like so many other social media users I’ve been asking how come police officers are standing by (in their hundreds) and doing nothing, bar making a few token arrests.
This comes from the lack of effective command in the first place.
Just as when they did nothing to prevent the protesters from shutting down Smithfield Market, sipping lattes while smug, middle-class hooligans indulged their apocalyptic fantasies by preventing working-class butchers from making a living.
Such a failure of duty at the top has created a politically correct risk-averse force that is no longer fit for purpose.

Much as I enjoyed seeing the biased BBC being held hostage by the protesters, the fact that the police let them do this beggars belief.
That the pretend rebels of XR can so easily access airliners to shout their diatribes against the West further underlines how weak and hopeless police are in ensuring airport security, a gift to any Islamist terrorist.
XR has called for the mass ingestion of psychedelic drugs. They have threatened to resort to violence to launch drones to disrupt air traffic if their demands are not met.
Given the terrorist threat they pose, why on earth are the police allowing them to run riot all over London? Is it because they are too busy searching Twitter for ‘offensive’ transgender limericks?
Perception is everything in politics, and the perception is that the police have acquiesced to anarchists, gangs and deluded ‘woke’ protesters.
They seem indoctrinated by Left-liberal orthodoxies and keener to be liked than doing their real job of protecting the public and apprehending criminals.
We already know from their callous disregard of the young victims of Muslim grooming gangs that they are terrified of being accused of racism.
The result of all this is to be seen in the annual crime statistics, released in March by the ONS, showing that knife crime rose by eight percent in the past year.
Children are murdered by thugs armed with kitchen knives while Metropolitan Police officers dance.
What kind of message does this send to criminals? That the police are to be feared or mocked? What is to make them believe the Home Secretary’s‘we’re coming after you’ tough talk?
Because of the changes to policing culture, the brave officers PC Palmer and PC Harper faced more risk than necessary in the line of duty and paid with their lives.
As David Fraser so aptly put it in his recent piece for TCW, ‘criminals should learn to fear the very sight of a policeman’.
Certainly, no criminal will fear a twerking, latte-drinking police force, who by doing so offer themselves up for scorn, derision, and mockery.
Until Priti Patel understands that the police have been emasculated and will remain so while Cressida Dick remains at the head of the Metropolitan Police, nothing will change.
Dick is not the only high-ranking officer who needs to be given her marching orders. It is time for the rest of the ‘woke’ police command to bow out.
Their potential replacements need to decide rapidly whether they are crime fighters or social workers; whether they are guardians of law and order or social justice warriors.
If they continue their descent into the latter, exasperated citizens will start taking the law into their own hands for their own safety.
The Home Secretary can increase the numbers of police as much as she likes but until she demands a change in policing culture, it will make no difference to the crime spree ravaging Britain.

It’s hard to blame the police when they see their good work being thwarted by the judiciary. Consider
• 1996: A jury in Liverpool acquitted four women who caused £1.5 million damage to a Hawk jet Fighter at the British Aerospace factory;
• 1999: Three women were acquitted of causing £80,000 damage to Trident nuclear submarine equipment;
• 2000: Greenpeace director Lord Melchett and 27 activists were found not guilty of criminal damage, after ripping up a field of GM crops.
• 2000: Five Greenpeace activists were found not guilty of criminal damage after occupying a municipal incinerator in London. The prosecution (ie the taxpayer) was ordered to pay the costs of £250,000.
• 2007: Six Greenpeace activists scaled a chimney at Kingsnorth power station in Kent and daubed slogans on it causing £30,000 worth of damage. Found not guilty.
• 2015: Thirteen activists were found guilty of aggravated trespass when they blocked runways at Heathrow, causing 25 flight cancellations and what the judge called “astronomical cost”. Nevertheless, they were spared jail and given just six weeks’ suspended sentence.
• 2017: Two men painted climate change slogans on the entrance to Kings College, London. They were acquitted by a jury of a charge of criminal damage. They argued that their actions were a proportional response to the climate crisis.
In every instance where vigilantes form it is because the police have failed. London is ripe for such a movement. If it happens, liberals will moan and complain. However, what other choices to the citizens have?
Though not as bad of London, other cities that are having serious problems with their police are Seattle, and Portland. This is a direct result of liberal leadership. Seattle will pay a policeman from another department $1,500 to do a lateral transfer including rookies, and they are getting almost no takers. The mayor of Portland wants to disarm that city’s police force.

So why were the cops there in the first place they should have been arrested and taking down the tents of the Just Stink Rebellion
