The United Nations is to vote later this week for a climate treaty “on steroids” – stronger, more all-encompassing, and more legally binding than the ailing Paris accord.
Fox News reports:
A proposal for bringing international environmental law under one legally binding treaty at the United Nations will be up for a preliminary vote later this week at the U.N. General Assembly. The United States U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley tells Fox News in a statement that the U.S. won’t support the measure.
The Global Pact for the environment has the backing of French President Emmanuel Macron and the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and is being sponsored by France at the world body. It seeks to consolidate what it calls the “fragmented nature of environmental law,” and “codify” it, and make it accessible to all citizens.
In a statement to Fox News, Haley said, “When international bodies attempt to force America into vague environmental commitments, it’s a sure sign that American citizens and businesses will get stuck paying a large bill without getting large benefits. The proposed global compact is not in our interests, and we oppose it.”
According to Marc Morano, bestselling author of The Politically Incorrect Guide to Climate Change, the proposed treaty is far more dangerous than the Paris Climate Accord from which President Trump extricated the U.S. last year.
He told Fox:
“This new global environmental pact will have more teeth and cover more aspects of human civilization than the U.N.-Paris climate pact. This new environmental pact is looking to be the U.N. Paris agreement on steroids because they are making it binding, and it appears even wider in scope.”

Another attempt at one world government. This is something Trudeau will shit himself as he runs to sign up. This will destroy Canada as a country which is his intent.
Paris treating on steroids touches a number of issues. The most important is national sovereignty. Many believe this has to yield to the “greater good” to fight climate change. Some of the early players supported climate change as a means to reduce sovereignty. Maurice Strong single handedly got the global warming movement going in the UN. His writings include statements that national sovereignty has to yield and that ballot box democracy needs to be modified.
From the article, “This new global environmental pact will have more teeth and cover more aspects of human civilization than the U.N.-Paris climate pact.” This means they plan dictate new top down agendas on all nations of the world. Again, this ignores sovereignty.
It is likely that the new treaty will have nations being told how much they need to reduce emissions rather deciding for themselves.
The entire concept can not work. If Germany with their major effort of Energiewende can’t reduce emission, most other countries will not be able to either.
Looking at the UN there is no doubt that the measure will pass a vote of the general assembly. This is numerically dominated by smaller developing nations. However, if I’m right, nothing with “teeth” or “legally binding” can happen unless the Security Council votes for it. That can’t happen because the United States has veto power there.
Like the climate change law suits, this effectively is nothing more than a publicity stunt.
As the Paris pledge implodes the globalists are scrambling to replace it and what we see at the UN is their Hail Mary . Thank goodness the USA is standing up to the bully’s . At least it smokes out the UN and it’s role . Now all they need to do is demand the return of $1 billion they stole from USA tax payers has Obama’s
illegal transfer of funds , never approved by Congress .
It is the duty of the USA to stop
this cheap attempt to create a
Totalitarian One World Dictatorship.
Time has come to evict the Useless Nations who have failed miserbly in brining us World Peace who only want to control our lives from cradle to grave and no dove live at the UN facility because theres already t too many vultures there already and its time for the eagle to leave and let the whole thing sink
