Executive Secretary Patricia Espinosa (pictured) has urged developed countries to make good on their promise to mobilize USD100 billion annually in climate finance to support the needs of developing nations.
Speaking at the UN Climate Talks taking place virtually from 31 May to 17 June, the UN Climate Chief expressed her frustration that the pledge of financial support, made in 2010, has not yet been met:
“We are still talking about this promise, despite greenhouse gas emissions continuing to be at their highest concentration ever; while extreme weather continues to decimate more parts of the world and with greater intensity; and while vulnerable people continue to suffer, continue to lose their livelihoods and their lives.”
Ms. Espinosa today addressed government delegates at an expert meeting on long-term climate finance.
Her call to action comes shortly before leaders of the world’s largest and most advanced economies prepare to gather for the G7 summit taking place from 9-11 June in Cornwall, United Kingdom, where the issue of building back better from the COVID-19 pandemic with greener, more sustainable economies will take center stage.
For many nations, securing the financing necessary to spur their own transition to a more sustainable future can’t happen without this promised support.
This includes action to cut greenhouse gas emissions and action to build resilience to the inevitable impacts of climate change, such as frequent and severe droughts, floods, and storms.
Meanwhile, the trillions of dollars being spent by governments for COVID-19 recovery packages have demonstrated that the $100 billion annually could be mobilized relatively easily with adequate political will.

So when will the UN facility start turning off their own lights?
Patricia Espinosa was talking about the “inevitable impacts of climate change, such as frequent and severe droughts, floods, and storms.” She should be getting her information from her own IPCC instead of journalists. According to the IPCC extreme weather events are not increasing. The real motivation for supporting the climate change fraud was revealed by Christiana Figueres, a former head of the IPCC, when she said the purpose of climate change is to transfer wealth from the industrial nations to the developing nations.
I don’t know if this is still true, but at one time before every major climate change conference the news stories in developing nations was dominated by the expectation of huge financial handouts. The mainstream media of the industrial nations censored this. They are 100% behind the climate change movement and feared if the people of the industrial nations knew about the expectation of huge handouts there would be alienated.
It might be a large amount better if these climate fanatics started to explore the human climate, the climate of corruption, ethics, lack of spirituality and real ethics, purpose, greed, power, rivalry, violence etc etc. Instead it aims to tax the more developed world which has improved living standards, holds on to ethics, has democratic freedom to a considerable extent. Already, the money poured into “aid” by western nations, falls all too often into the hands of corrupt counties and dictators unable to manage their own affairs, due to political and religious strife and power politics. The enemy is not CO2 etc. but humanity unable to look at itself. “Green” is al too often indeed watermelons, green outside RED inside, combined with Leftie woke stupidity and indoctrination by ill informed media. as poet Yeats wrote, “things fall apart, the centre cannot hold, anarchy is loosed on the land” Where, we need to ask, is the Centre?
The UN surely has frustrations to express given their failure to give us the montreal protocol for the climate that THEY HAD SAID THAT THEY COULD AND THAT THEY WOULD DO.

She looks like she could donate a couple meals to climate refugees.
If that request is full-filled, then it amounts to a license to steal.
Just imagine all the greedy middle”persons” that will skim off a “mil” here and and a ” mil” there.
A cynic might say that just a fraction of one percent of that proposed hundred billion dollars siphoned off is sufficient to make a trough-dweller rich…
Time to pull America out of the UN and to evict the UN from America lets move it all to Moscow and turn the area int Homeless Shelter
