Whenever I read about protesters slinging poop, I am irresistibly reminded of Democrats, whom I’ve called the “Party of Poop” ever since the Bush era, when they were mailing poop, throwing poop, pooping poop, and generally bringing it to all their efforts, real or imaginary.
Looking at the state of Democrat-run cities in 2022, nothing has changed. [bold, links added]
But in Holland, it’s entirely possible that throwing poop really did have an effect.
The farmers did it to protest a draconian climate edict, and now, the radical agriculture minister behind the push has resigned.
Over the summer, Dutch farmers began to protest radical requirements for cutting nitrogen emissions on the farms.
In a massive protest, more than 40,000 farmers blocked roads with their tractors and ended by pouring manure (always plentiful on farms) on government offices, surrounding streets, and even the police.

That protest may have had some effect because the radical minister of agriculture in the Dutch government has resigned — and not voluntarily:
The Netherlands’ agricultural minister Henk Staghouwer has been forced to resign following widespread protests from Dutch farmers over his radical climate agenda that seeks to destroy their livelihoods.
Staghouwer was leading the Dutch agriculture ministry’s climate policy that involved confiscating farms in a forced government buy-out scheme.
In the wake of the huge protests from farmers, Staghouwer has now been forced to step down.
He told the Dutch cabinet that pushback from farmers had meant he would not be able to meet a September deadline for rolling out the government’s radical green policy, the AP reported.
The climate agenda involves cutting nitrogen emissions from the nation’s farming sector to the point where it made it impossible for farms to continue operating.
The initiative includes a $24.2 billion scheme to buy out local farmers and facilitate the transition away from intensive farming practices.
You noticed that Staghouwer isn’t giving up on the whole plan. He’s just resigning because he missed a deadline.
If the farmers stop now and rest on their laurels, they may as well have saved all the manure to fertilize the teeny little garden patches they’ll have when they’re pushed off their farms.
As of now, there’s no indication that the Dutch government has learned from the debacle in Sri Lanka when Lysenkoism ruled, and the country ran out of food.
Whether in Europe, the Indian subcontinent, or Africa, we are getting graphic evidence that the entire green agenda is deadly.
It will leave us sweltering in the heat; freezing in the cold; afraid in the dark; and, invariably, starving.
It serves no one but the self-styled elite who blithely imagine that they will ride out the coming (and desired) mass death and awake to a pastoral land in which they live in first-world luxury while a planet of serfs provides for their every need.
I don’t see American lefties learning their lesson (they all think they’ll be among the saved), so I’m hoping our American farmers have a lot of manure.

Water in the Atmosphere as Vapor or Clouds is the primary Greenhouse Gas, accounting for ~85% – ~95% of the warming effect.
This post is based on updated information on the proportional warming effectiveness of the Minor Greenhouse Gasses, CO2 – CH4 – N20. An earlier version was published by Geocraft for educational purposes some 20 years ago.
Geocraft data assumed that the Minor Greenhouse gasses, CO2 – CH4 – N20, account for just ~5% of the 33°C Greenhouse effect. These revised calculations conservatively assume that those Minor Greenhouse Gasses account for more like ~10% of the warming effect, thus doubling their potential influence. Geocraft also makes estimates of the proportions of those gasses that are attributable to Mankind. Even when accounting for the conservative 90% estimate of the effects of Water Vapour and Clouds the truly insignificant combined influence of Man-kind to date at less than 0.6°C is shown below.
According to the conservatively amended data, Global human emissions:
Carbon Dioxide contributes less than 0.5°C
Methane contributes ~0.06°C
N2O contributes about ~0.01°C.
CO2 is the only Man-made emission that could conceivably have any further Greenhouse effect: but at 420 parts per million the Greenhouse warming capability of CO2 is almost entirely saturated, so that any future Man-made CO2 emissions can only ever now result in very small Global warming outcomes.
Levels of CH4 and N2O in the atmosphere are self-limiting by their inherent degradation chemistry. So, the warming effects of CH4 and N2O will remain so low as to be imperceptible, immeasurable and well within any margins of measurement error.
The distortions and failures to understand the insignificant scale of effects of the Man-made contribution to Greenhouse Gas emissions result in irrational, damaging, unnecessary but ostensibly well-meaning Climate mitigation policies.
Aggressive Global Warming policies are based on ingrained and exaggerated mis-representation of the future warming effectiveness of CO2 and the even lesser Man-made contributors to warming, Methane and Nitrous Oxide. Alarmist thinking then falsely assumes that any warming induced by Mankind must inevitably be catastrophic.
There is an unfounded assumption that any divergence from the current “nominally ideal” Global Temperature would be a Man-made Climate disaster. There is nil understanding amongst Alarmist thinking and policy makers that the colder temperatures, that could well arise in the immediate future with the predicted less active sunspot cycles this century, would be truly detrimental to the well-being of Mankind and the Biosphere. Just a few centuries ago, lower Solar activity caused significant and catastrophic Global outcomes from the cooling during the Little Ice Age.
In the past 12,000 years of our beneficial Holocene interglacial period Global temperatures have been much higher than now with no downside except the enhanced progress of Man-kind and a more vibrant Biosphere. But for the last three millennia, since ~1000BC, Global temperatures have been reducing quite rapidly, with the last millennium 1000AD – 2000AD being the coldest period of our present benign Holocene Interglacial.
Canada needs better PM then that Pinhead Trudeau leading them
Trudeau has told Canadian farmers to find ways to farm using less nitrogen fertilizer. The stuff is so expensive, why would we use more than necessary? I used less this year and I have a successful crop. Next year, the same strategy may not work. It depends on the other inputs I have no control over; sun and rain.
The Canadian farm representatives have already replied to Ottawa. Farmers are using best practices NOW. If Trudeau and his ilk are so concerned about pollution, they should park their jets.
