A comprehensive correlation analysis (conducted by Grabyan, 2025) utilizing temperature and CO2 data spanning the past 2,000 years reaffirms that CO2 changes lag temperature changes by approximately 150 years throughout the period from 1 to 1850 CE (Common Era). [some emphasis, links added]
This CE lead-lag sequencing – with temperature changes leading and CO2 changes lagging by centuries to millennia – is wholly consistent with the paleo CO2 and temperature proxy record (ice core, stomata, borehole, etc.) spanning the last 20,000 years (Demezhko and Gornostaeva, 2014), 400,000 years (Fischer et al., 1999, Mudelsee et al., 2001, Monnin et al., 2001, Uemura et al., 2018), 66 million years (Frank, 2024), and 420 million years (Koutsoyiannis, 2024).
Notably, changes in CO2 levels can be attributed to temperature changes, not just over the long term (centuries), but also over shorter periods (months, years). (Koutsoyiannis et al., 2023; Humlum et al., 2013)

The correlational analyses also reveal that temperature changes may be driven by variations in total solar irradiance (TSI) – especially when using TSI datasets that are not preferred by the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change).
Other TSI-temperature correlation studies have drawn the same conclusions (Soon et al., 2015; Yndestad and Solheim, 2017; Scafetta, 2023).

Wow, wait ’till this appears on the BBC. then the balloon will go up…………….. Waiting, waiting…..
John, I am assuming you aren’t holding your breath!
I recall seeing in the misleading video “An Inconvenient Truth” that having established higher temperatures precede increases in CO2, they then switched the colors on subsequent graphs to make it seem the opposite which supports their mendacious supposition.
Data showing that higher temperatures precede increases in CO2 contradicts the global warming narrative. Yet, this was ignored. A true scientific movement would have abandoned the theory, yet the global warming/climate change movement has always been a political movement so it continued.
The oceans contain twenty times as much CO2 as the atmosphere. Warmer water can hold less CO2. So by the laws of physics, as oceans become slightly warmer, they will release CO2 into the atmosphere.
David, as I’m sure you know the “scientists” like Michael Mann make too much money lying about CO2 being the cause for any and all “climate change” problems like hurricanes, droughts, floods, forest fires, etc. So they will lie about it while doing all they can to destroy the credibility of real scientists who question this narrative.
At least you are consistent.
