Four reconstructions from the central and western High Arctic reveal July temperatures were about 1-2°C warmer than today during most of the first millennium and Medieval period (Tamo and Gajewski, 2019).
A few years ago, a chironomid reconstruction of the Boothia Peninsula in the Canadian Arctic (Fortin and Gajewski, 2016) revealed not only were today’s temperatures the coldest of the last 7000 years but the last 150 years “do not indicate warming during this time.”
The Canadian Arctic’s Baffin Island had 5°C warmer summer temperatures between 10,000 and 8000 years ago (Ilyashuk et al., 2011). Somehow the polar bears managed to survive this sea-ice-free period.
Earlier this year, another Canadian Arctic reconstruction (Bajolle et al., 2019) was published indicating temperatures were about 2-4.5°C warmer than today throughout the last 8500 years.
Only three records mark temperatures colder than they are now.
Another new reconstruction of Arctic Canada temperatures cites 4 records indicating the Medieval Climate Anomaly (MCA) was about 1-2°C warmer than today (Tamo and Gajewski, 2019).

Climate alarmists and the so called scientists that support their cause have to ignore history because it doesn’t support their politically motivated cause. The history presented here is an example. What is often ignored is the very high temperatures in the US in the 1930’s. Another inconvenient part of Earth’s natural history is the warmest three years in the last hundred years were all cooler than 87% of the years in the last ten thousand years.
‘Past performance is not a guarantee of future returns’ is a disclaimer, necessary to protect naifs in a chaotic system.
Climate Change is another disclaimer, substituted for Global Warming, just in case the rate of warming reversed. It was the IPCC’s ‘irrational exuberance’ moment. Now they can call polar vortices man-made. How many suckers buy that one?

How can any of this be true? Michael Mann’s Hockey Stick graph showed things cooling for centuries until just decades ago when it shot up. So who should I believe?
Just kidding! Mann’s graph is pure fantasy while these papers were done by serious scientists who want to understand the past, not make it up.
