Actress-singer and atmospheric science expert Barbra Streisand declared on Monday that President Donald Trump should be the first “climate denier” removed from office.
“Last week it was 114 in Paris and Guadalajara was buried in 3 feet of ice from a hailstorm,” Barbra Streisand said in a tweet, linking to a Washington Post article about the hail storm that left the Mexican city of Guadalajara under several feet of snow over the weekend.
“Climate change is here now and it is time for voters to remove the climate deniers from office. Starting with Trump.”

Missing from Streisand’s sermon — and, oddly the Washington Post piece — was any context or facts about hail storms, specifically that they are quite common during the summer months.
Writing in Forbes, Dr. J. Marshall Shepherd, Director of the University of Georgia’s (UGA) Atmospheric Sciences Program, points to a study by climatologist Stan Changnon, Jr. to explain why location, perfect conditions, and timing all helped create the atmosphere for the hail storm that hit Guadalajara:
Legendary climatologist Stan Changnon, Jr. published a paper on the climatology of North American hail in the Journal of Applied Meteorology.
This 1977 study found that hail is most likely to occur in the Spring or Summer primarily in the Central Plateau and high mountains.
His study also found hail to be less common in coastal Mexico or the Yucatan Peninsula. Most places averaged 3 to 4 hail days per year, but higher elevations could experience more hail days.
To be clear, Washington Post writers Jason Samenow and Jeff Halverson noted that Guadalajara’s elevated location made it ripe for such a storm:
Hail is somewhat unusual in southern areas during the summer because the distance between the freezing layer in the cloud and the hot land surface is large so the ice can melt before reaching the ground.
But, because Guadalajara sits near the mountains at an elevation over 5,000 feet, this distance is reduced and hail is more common.
Barbra Streisand is perhaps too busy shedding tears over Hillary Clinton’s election loss to realize she’s guilty of denying science.

And we would like to see Babs removed from the planet along with the rest of the Hollywood snowflakes!
The Hollywood eco pretenders must be felling guilty for decades of their own piggy consumption . Now they go all preachy promoting a fraud . Humans are not about to control the earths temperature . fortunately nature has retained control over that and not nim rods from Hollywood or other rent seekers.
Trump derangement syndrome has just wrecked the psyche of arrogant Liberals who had their globalist ambitions dashed .
I like some of her songs.
I’m all for voting out of office all climate deniers starting with AOC and pretty much ever other Democrat in Congress. Also my governor here in Colorado and pretty much all the democrats in the Colorado legislature. All of them deny the reason why climate changes, claiming it’s caused by humans.
What are Barbara’s initials? BS Sounds about right for her rants.
Barbara is a singer/entertainer.
Why would anyone listen to her on anything else, let alone a scientific issue?
I used to like Hollywood but now its become just another sin city full of the worst of human wastes Tinsel Town who needs it
It is really too bad that voters don’t consider the climate change issue more when filling out their ballots. Poll after poll shows that climate change is near or at the bottom of issues that voters are concerned about. Polls also show that most voters are not willing to add more than $10 to their utility bill for measures that are supposed to fight climate change. Yet, politicians in many US locations, Ireland, and the UK are advancing measures that will cost the average family more than a thousand dollars a month, or at the minimum hundreds of dollars. If the voters let the climate change issue influence their voting, it isn’t the climate realists who would be removed from office, but those who are advancing agendas based on the fraud.
The idiotic enviro-whackos she touts are the same ones who’ve guided a century of forest mismanagement in CA such that last year a firestorm consumed a great portion of her beloved Malibu. Were it not for firefighters using uncounted gallons of fossil fuel to battle those firestorms, it might have spread north and destroyed the entirety of Malibu colony.
That’s right, Barbara, if anyone has a brain, or disagrees with your [Global Warming] faith, must remove them from office.
Okay Steisand how big is your own Climate Footprint the same for all of Hollywood’s Eco-Wackos shall we measure the size in Football Fields?
Climate change is real, has always been real, and always will be real. The current period however, has been remarkably stable and temperate. We should be grateful. As for AGW, it is a myth. Proponents that blame CO2 for weather remind me of Xerxes and the Hellespont. Whipping didn’t work for him and won’t work for us.
