The Institution of Engineers and Shipbuilders in Scotland (IESIS) has made public its concern about a complete failure of the country’s electricity system owing to the combined effect of the closure of coal-fired power stations and the growth of intermittent renewable generation.
IESIS warned that such a failure would mean a ‘black start’ to restoring supplies and that this could take days.
Page 8 of the report should be compulsory reading for every politician and green zealot: ‘Coal-fired and gas-fired generators are important in restoring electricity supply after a system failure. Wind generation can only have a very limited role and nuclear generators cannot be quickly be restarted.’
A power failure for days has severe consequences for communications, food, water, heat, money, fuel supplies and could lead to widespread civil disobedience.
This has arisen because of the (Scottish National Party) SNP fixation on wind energy and reducing CO2 emissions so that it can boast ‘Scotland has the best CO2 reduction targets in the world’ even though Scotland is responsible for a mere 0.13 percent of global emissions.
Remember when you are sitting in the dark it was the SNP fixation with wind turbines that got us into this nightmare.

Corporate bean counters are the antithesis of enthusiastic engineers. So…..where was the exchequer when engineering firms were selling their big green machinery ?
Do windmills replace generating stations? Only if the wind blows 24/7.
Otherwise, no.
“Alrighty, then. Level the generating stations, full steam ahead! ”
The irony is wasted, the band played on.
There is a “Carbon Tax” bill already being drawn up that a democrat will be presenting in the next congressional session. It’s ‘tax’ is even heavier than the one that Washington Stare rejected in the latest election. It’s going to have to be a grass-roots campaign against the well-funded media supported alarmists…..
Don’t let what happened in Scotland happen to us here in America time to vote Thumbs Down to the Eco-Nazis/Watermelons
