In a significant moment in the history of the European Parliament, a third of MEPs today voted against attempts to exaggerate the impact of global warming.
The European Climate Realist Network (ECRN) welcomes the votes of 225 MEPs, who this morning rejected the motion by green parties to declare a climate emergency, a motion that was, nevertheless, passed in the European Parliament by 429 MEPs.
In light of our call yesterday for MEPs to vote against the climate emergency declaration, this is an encouraging sign that unquestioning climate alarm is beginning to be seriously challenged.
The vote took place on the same day as Tata Steel Europe has confirmed it will cut 3000 European jobs and amid reports that the new EU Commissioner plans to spend a staggering £3 trillion on a unilateral climate agenda.
The growing division within the EU and the European Parliament over climate policies is likely to deepen in the near future as the astronomical economic, social and political costs become increasingly unbearable.
In the coming months, the European Climate Realist Network will work with MEPs from around Europe to help develop alternative policies that are economically, technologically and politically feasible.

Well it’s not like you can just rob people without some kind of reason. Climate is as good a reason as any other. Mostly since people are no longer prepared to put up with unilateral IMF plundering.
Some of the biggist lies spread by these Eco-Freaks is the Earth is Fragile and the Delicate Balance of Nature i have been hearing all this load of malarkey for long time its not true at all
The young generations have to be taught the whole history of our planet and how double the temperature and double the carbon content of today, have always been the norm and for hundreds of millions of years brought abundant life everywhere when all the Deserts were lush green with forests, plants, animals, birds, fish, the lot. The Greens don’t even know that we need vast networks of reservoirs so that we can survive the droughts brought on by the lack of warmth and carbon.
I hope it snows a lot this winter and freezes the toes of all those KEEP IT IN THE GROUND idiots
This planet is said to have gone through at least five ice ages, each of which was followed by periods of warming not related to human activity. The current warming cycle needs to be seen in that perspective. Any human contribution to that is best left to people properly qualified to do so. School dropouts running around spreading panic and disinformation are harmful to humankind.
The last ice age which had a duration of 1.5 million year, ended or paused 11,000 years ago. What is more likely, that an increase in atmospheric CO2 of 20ppm (0.002%) is responsible for any increase in temperature or the warming is naturally occurring as a consequence of leaving an ice age?
