Obama arrived in Italy by private jet yesterday with a 14-car convoy in tow. He took over two floors of the Park Hyatt – at $10K a night – and will give a climate change speech to a sold-out concert.
He is expected to blame the planet’s woes on our selfish lifestyles before he heads to Borgo Finocchieto, a luxury 44-bed retreat in Tuscany. No one expects the liberal elite to actually give a damn. From Daily Mail:
Former President Barack Obama looked stylish and relaxed as he arrived in Milan, Italy on Tuesday – just a day after entreating Senate Republicans to save Obamacare.
Mr. Obama is in Italy for a two-day trip in which he will meet with former Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and speak about climate change at a conference.
Italian Air Force representatives were on hand at Linate military airport Monday morning to welcome the former American president to the country.
A 14-car convoy ferried Mr Obama into the city, to the Park Hyatt Hotel where he is staying.
He wore shades and went tie-less as he stepped out of the hotel later in the day, waving and smiling to his Italian fans.
On Tuesday afternoon he will deliver a speech on climate change at the annual Seeds and Chips conference – for which 3,500 people have paid €850 each for a ticket, The Times reported.
This has raised almost €3million for the Obama Foundation, which was set up to help further his project of ‘renewal and global progress’.
After his work requirements, it is reported that he will kick back at the Borgo Finocchieto, a luxury 44-bed retreat in Tuscany.
The stunning cluster of stone buildings were bought by US lawyer John Phillips in 2001 and renovated after being abandoned by farmers in the 1960s.
The idyllic retreat now boasts tennis courts, a private gym, a pool and underground parking.

Not sure about who pays for the initial trip, but as an ex-President, he still gets the security detail – and we pay for it.
It’s very easy to go all over the globe on the American tax dollars. The secret service, the security is all on the US. It must be nice to be a liberal and expect everyone else to pay your way. GET A JOB A_____E!!
