With the next United Nations climate summit around the corner, reports have flooded the news cycle with the so-called horror global warming will wreak on human civilization if more is not done to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
U.N. delegates are gearing up to meet in Bonn, Germany, for this year’s climate summit in early November. The U.N. and allied group have wasted no time in promoting alarming data points about global warming ahead of the meeting.
“The human symptoms of climate change are unequivocal and potentially irreversible,” reads a new report published Monday in the peer-reviewed medical journal The Lancet. The report doubles down on the claim that fighting global warming is “the greatest global health opportunity of the 21st century.”
Global warming is already making it too hot for people to work outside, spreads mosquito-borne illnesses and increases the cost of natural disasters, The Lancet report claims. The report paints an apocalyptic image of a future that could be averted by massive government programs.
The Lancet study and others that have come out in the past few days sparked widespread media coverage.
“Climate change fueling disasters, disease in ‘potentially irreversible’ ways, the report warns,” The Washington Post reported on The Lancet study. USA Today ran with the headline “Climate change’s impact on human health is already here — and is ‘potentially irreversible,’ report says.”
The United Nations released an “emissions gap” report on Tuesday, sounding the alarm that not enough is done to keep projected global warming below 2 degrees Celsius — the goal of the Paris climate accord.
The pledges “that form the foundation of the Paris Agreement cover only approximately one-third of the emissions reductions needed to be on a least-cost pathway for the goal of staying well below 2°C,” the U.N. reported.
“The gap between the reductions needed and the national pledges made in Paris is alarmingly high,” reads a U.N. report. The U.N. calls for more emissions reductions through phasing out fossil fuels.
“UN warns of ‘unacceptable’ greenhouse gas emissions gap,” The Guardian reported. BBC News echoed the narrative, writing: “Emissions gap remains ‘alarmingly high’ says UN.”
A separate 2017 report published by U.K. researchers at PricewaterhouseCoopers, says global “carbon intensity” was “just short of the 3% average decarbonization rate required to achieve the national targets pledged in the 2015 Paris Agreement.”
“More importantly, this rate is less than half of the 6.3% decarbonization rate needed to limit global warming to well below two degrees – the main objective of the Paris Agreement,” PricewaterhouseCoopers U.K. reported.
The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) also released a report Monday on global greenhouse gas concentrations, this year finding emissions increased at “record-breaking speed” in 2016.
“There’s more CO2 in the atmosphere now than any point in almost a million years,” USA Today reported and the taxpayer-funded Voice of America wrote: “WMO: Greenhouse Gas Emissions Highest in 800,000 Years.”
“We have never seen such big growth in one year as we have been seeing last year in carbon dioxide concentration,” WMO Secretary-General Petteri Taalas told journalists.
He called “for governments to fulfill the pledges they made in Paris in 2015 to take steps to reduce global warming,” according to the United Nations News Centre.

The UN/IPCC et al know exactly what they’re doing. They know introducing CO2 into the atmosphere has little or no consequence with respect to global temperature. It’s OK to jet worldwide to defend the faith but your SUV is killing the planet.
We are witnessing the early attempts at global governance–wealth allows independence; independence is the enemy of global government. They are using CO2 reduction as a means of wealth transfer to weaken the strong wealthy nations and empower weak poor countries. The United States is target #1, the glue that keeps the civilized world from exploding. I applaud President Trump’s decision to abandon the Paris Anti-Freedom Treaty. He knows money for nothing is never smart; he also knows “fighting global climate change” is the biggest scam in world history.
COP23 is being hosted by Fiji though will be in Bonn Germany. This is the first time the climate conference will be hosted by one of the Least Developed Countries (LDC), a subgroup of 47 nations at the conference. The conference host has always had a lot of influence.
The LDC met in Addis Ababa to discuss their priorities. These include:
LDC need to be provided with further financial, technological and capacity. In other words, send money.
Even though extreme weather events are decreasing, the LDC claim they are increasing and blame all damage from any such event on the emissions of the industrial nations. As such they are demanding “Loss and damage” were the industrial nations would compensate them for all such events. In other words, send money.
They are demanding full implementation to provide the Green Fund with US $100 billion a year. In other words, send money.
They are also demanding that the industrial nations triple and implement the current pledges to reduce emissions. That would also include the United States though this country was not explicitly mentioned.
This article is an excellent example of “common sense isn’t common.” There is no way an increase of one degree as claimed (it is actually closer to 0.12 degree) could cause, “Global warming is already making it too hot for people to work outside, spreads mosquito-borne illnesses and increases the cost of natural disasters.” Anyone who believes this must be incapable of thinking.
There have been times that I didn’t know that we were close to one of the yearly climate conferences. I was then altered that one was near the swarm of articles and “science” reports saying how bad the climate change situation is. The media, WHO, UN, and “scientists” continue to provide free advertisement for the climate change agenda.
Such alarmist articles have been written in advance of a conference every year for over ten years, yet their predictions or statements of how bad things are have never been true.
Why is a medical journal deliberately stressing out simpletons? Imagine the people who take this fraud to heart, shivering in the dark, forsaking meat, riding bicycles in the slush. It’s not enough sacrifice? It’s not working? Doctors take an oath to relieve suffering. Don’t torment the feeble – minded.
And when these Deligates gather for their little Ow-Wow their not coming by magic flying carpets,or by flapping their arms and flying there and not using pixie dust either their all coming by airplanes and be driven there in limos they will use up countless kilowatt hours if electricity and their going to be using all those many gallons of water as well and Al Bore will probibly be there to read his stupid poem to them all

Yes CO2 is higher and almost makes up a whopping 1/2 % of the atmosphere . The horror . To think of all that added plant food and increase in the world’s standard of living .
