An invader on stage tried to take the microphone from Greta Thunberg as she delivered a speech at a large climate protest on Sunday, as some in the audience chanted pro-Palestinian slogans.
Thunberg’s speech in Amsterdam’s Museum Square was briefly interrupted by the protester, who accused her of turning the march into a political event. [emphasis, links added]
“I came here for a climate demonstration, not a political view,” the man said while trying to wrench the microphone from Thunberg.
The 20-year-old Swedish environmental activist told the man to “calm down” as he was wrestled off stage by a man and a woman in Palestinian keffiyehs.
Moments before the incident, the crowd could be heard chanting “Palestine will be free”.

People are finally turning against this radical fraud

Earlier in the day, Thunberg had handed the microphone to a Palestinian peace activist whose speech was cut short by organizers when she used the contested phrase “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”
Yesterday, Greta Thunberg shared the stage with Sara Rachdan. My quick Instagram research shows: Rachdan celebrates Hamas' attacks against Israeli civilians, admires terrorists and trivializes the Holocaust. Apparently, non of that is a problem for Greta. THREAD pic.twitter.com/j9dIM7j7KS

Videos on social media showed Thunberg responding by chanting “no climate justice on occupied land” repeatedly.
Tens of thousands of protesters marched through the Dutch capital, calling for immediate action against climate change ten days before the country holds a general election.
Local police said that about 70,000 people joined the march, including the former EU climate chief Frans Timmermans, who will lead the combined Labour and Green parties at the upcoming election.
Israel has criticized Thunberg for her support of Palestinians and for what it sees as a failure to condemn the attack by Hamas on October 7.
Week 270. Today we strike in solidarity with Palestine and Gaza. The world needs to speak up and call for an immediate ceasefire, justice and freedom for Palestinians and all civilians affected.#FreePalestine #IStandWithPalestine #StandWithGaza #FridaysForFuture

Thunberg responded on X/Twitter: “It goes without saying — or so I thought — that I’m against the horrific attacks by Hamas. As I said, ‘The world needs to speak up and call for an immediate ceasefire, justice, and freedom for Palestinians and all civilians affected.’ #StandWithPalestine.”
Israel’s education ministry has since announced Thunberg had disqualified herself from being portrayed as “an educational role model” and removed references to her from the curriculum.
Officials said in a statement: “Following Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg’s biased and one-sided support for Gaza, without condemning Hamas, the Ministry of Education has decided to remove educational resources that portray her as a role model or a source of inspiration.”
It added: “Her outrageous stance and apparent inability to differentiate between good and evil disqualify her from representing the forces that strive for positive change in the world. Her image cannot be a model for our students, many of whom saw her as inspiration.”

Countless agendas that can’t make on their own merit are hitchhiking on the climate change movement. A few are forcing de-industrialization, forcing people out of their cars, reducing the life style of the middle class, veganism, Marxism, and redistributing the wealth of the industrial nations. Now anti-Semitism and those opposing Israel are trying to hitchhike. The man who grabbed the mike from Greta was right in that the Israeli war is not a valid climate change issue.
Thundberg is a rent-a-mascot.
