French President Emmanuel Macron is holding onto a glimmer of hope that the Trump administration will re-enter the Paris climate agreement, according to a report Sunday from a French newspaper.
“(Trump) told me that he would try to find a solution in the coming months,” Macron told reporters, referring to meetings he had in Germany earlier this month with President Donald Trump. “We spoke in detail about the things that could make him come back to the Paris accord.”
Trump promised to pull out of the Paris Agreement during the presidential campaign, but members of his cabinet tried to persuade him to stay wedded to the accord. The president has spent most of his administration eliminating scores of his predecessor’s climate regulations.
He believes that former President Barack Obama poorly negotiated the nonbinding climate deal and did not include workers in the process. Trump announced in June that the U.S. would be leaving the accord and possibly re-enter it if the plan can be renegotiated.
Trump also spoke to Germany’s Angela Merkel, Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Britain’s Theresa May after his climate speech to explain his decision, a senior White House official said. Macron at the time said that the deal cannot be renegotiated and that he would discontinue talking to Trump about climate-related issues.
“The president spoke with President Trump in a five-minute phone call. The exchange was direct,” a French source told reporters about a conversation Trump had with Macron shortly after the decision. “Nothing [in the deal] was renegotiable,” Macron allegedly said.

Billions of people wouldn’t believe China reporting that it’s coal consumption dropped 8%, except Rakooi. He must be numb from the ankles up. China is promoting themselves as holier than Trump. They signed the Paris thingy, promised to make zero reductions to their emissions until they feel like it. What a victory for the Warmists!!! The media treats the public like 4 year-olds.
Trump would only sign on if the other nations are held as accountable as the USA. India, Brazil and China would have to all pay their fair Co2 share. As this will never happen…
You really need to read NEWS from other sources than the always Deep in the Hip Pocket of Killer Coal….The Daily CALLER….
India & China, on a per capita basis, produce less CO2 than the WEALTHY USA.
They are already investing FAR more in SOLAR and WIND than the US.
and that is before the TRUMP .

“….China has dramatically cut its carbon dioxide emissions since the beginning of the year, with its reduction equalling the UK’s total emissions for the same period.
The huge decline in China’s emissions can be attributed to the country’s falling coal consumption, which decreased last year for the first time this century.
Greenpeace/Energydesk China analysis found China’s coal use dropped by 8 per cent and its CO2 emissions dipped by 5 per cent in the first four months of the year, compared to the same period in 2014, and the decline is accelerating….”
“….But last week the Chinese president Xi Jinping and India’s prime minister, Narendra Modi, issued a joint statement urging developed countries to honour their commitments on CO2 emissions and help developing countries cut their own emissions….”

Slowing coal use in China and India has put the world’s two most populous countries on track to beat their carbon emission goals under the Paris climate agreement, according to a new analysis.
Greenhouse gas emissions from both countries are growing more slowly than they predicted just a year ago, and the difference is substantial—roughly 2 to 3 billion tons annually by the year 2030…”
CO2: total amount in the atmosphere is 400 ppm or 0,04%
Of that co2 3 % is from humans. So a mere 12 ppm or 0,0012% is from human activity.
Please stop the lies.
