The majority of the world’s major mainstream media, especially those that regularly spotlight hot weather events as signs of climate apocalypse do not address the fact that extreme cold events stand in stark contrast to the theories of climate alarmists.
High-temperature events get the media in a publishing frenzy. Not so with extremely cold events, which are also worthy of publication, yet more often than not, get ignored.
Here are some recent examples:
South Pole
While the rest of the world sizzled, the South Pole shivered with an average temperature of minus 78 degrees over the past six months.
The average temperature at the Amundsen-Scott Pole Station between April and September, a frigid -78 degrees F, was the coldest on record, dating back to 1957. This was 4.5 degrees lower than the most recent 30-year average at this remote station. 1
One study reports that the coldest temperature stations in Antarctica show a cooling/non-warming trend since 1956. 2
In Antarctica, there’s been no sea ice extent trend change since 1978 when satellite measurement began. 3
Arctic
Scientists at the National Snow and Ice Data Center announced in October 2021 that the Arctic ice sheet extended 25 percent further than it did last summer.
This year’s post-melting season ice sheet is 40 percent larger than the record low, which was set in 2012. 4
In mid-November 2021, Arctic sea ice was approaching 10,000,000 km2—the second-highest ice extent of any of the previous 15 years. By the end of November, the Arctic sea ice was the highest extent of the past two decades.
Greenland
Greenland continues to show good ice mass gain in 2021-2022 after recording historically high ice mass gains during some periods of the 2021 summer.
Data from the Japan Meteorological Association demonstrate that temperatures in Iceland and Greenland show no warming in the recent two decades. 5
India
In a direct contradiction of doomsday predictions for global warming, many parts of India experienced one of their mildest summers and an abundant rainfall season.
The country’s capital, the northern city of Delhi, experienced some of the coldest winters in the past three, breaking 100-year-old records for minimum temperatures. 5
Japan
Tokyo has seen its coolest September in over 30 years. Hachijojima, an island belonging to Tokyo out in the Pacific and absent of the Urban Heat Island effect has not seen any real warming at all in September in the last 107 years. 6
China
The exceptionally cold wave engulfed 90% of China. Beijing suffered the lowest October temperature in half a century. Historic blizzards blasted China as century-old records fell. 7
France, Ireland, and Germany
Autumn in France appears not to have warmed at all since 2000.
Ireland shows 26 years of October cooling. 8
January mean temperatures in Germany have been falling for quite some time. 9
Australia
As delegates from the climate conference in Glasgow streamed home in mid-November, with the official start of the Australian summer just days away, folks in Melbourne were freezing, there were floods in NSW, and it was snowing in Tasmania. Punishing cold broke 167-year-old records in Australia. 10
Northern Hemisphere
Snow mass in the Northern Hemisphere is on-trend to set a record. The greater the snow mass, the longer it will take to melt, and thus albedo (reflection of sunlight back out to space) will be increased, providing positive feedback that results in more cooling.
The cause of the cooling is evident in the solar record. Solar Cycle 25 is tracking 24 closely and so is much weaker than most solar cycles since the 1950s.
Final Words
No debate, some regions of the Earth have been warming in recent decades or at some time in the past 100 years. Other regions have been cooling at the same time. For the most part, the cooling has been hidden from view.

Dec 24, 2021 A Global Cooling Christmas
We no longer need Monty Python’s Flying Circus because our actual leaders are far to ridiculous for any credible skit.

Ah, but they are explaining this: Global cooling is caused by global warming……
That is my point exactly! Plus here on Australia’s east coast it has been a poor, cool very wet summer but my bet it will be HOTTEST EVER!
As often said Climate change is totally about money and control. The devotees just make up the most absurd stories. Every weather event is now climate change, these morons must be running in circles trying to keep up with their own stupidity.
It snows and the M.S. Media go silent after telling us it would never snow again.Once again the M.S. Media proves they can not ever be trusted especialy the notorious New York Times(NYT’s)and CNN the Fake News Network
Exactly right, which is why I made this video … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBnzmCJALYk
I watched the video and I loved it. It makes me wonder why YouTube hasn’t banned it for “misinformation” even though everything in the video is well documented. I have to laugh when climate alarmists tell us to trust computer models over observation. The models told us 20 years ago that snow was to be a thing of the past. Well, right now I’m closely watching the forecast since snow and freezing rain is possible in the next couple of days. Where is the Medieval Warm Period when we need it? Oh I forgot. Michael Mann told us it really didn’t exist.
