Green zealots infest all parties: the media, academia, education, and vested business interests. They consistently oppose what works and promote what won’t.
Greens demand “Zero Emissions.” Nuclear and hydropower are the only practical “zero-carbon” electricity options for Australia. Greens oppose both.
Greens worship “the environment” but support widespread environmental destruction by bird-chopping windmills, and land-stealing solar panels and their inevitable spider-webs of roads and transmission lines.
All to produce intermittent energy that is forced onto distributors and consumers by legislated targets, taxes, subsidies, and mandates.
Green policies support cutting forests in America to ship woodchips to the UK for burning in the DRAX power station.
Other policies support growing crops using diesel fuel for tractors, harvesters, and trucks to produce biodiesel with less net energy than they started with. Not smart.
Greens support carbon capture and storage, fully aware that this won’t happen without legislated subsidies, taxes, and targets.
They know that CCS will favor their wind and solar toys by multiplying costs and energy waste for coal, oil, or gas generators. Big miners also love it because far more coal or gas will be needed to produce the same electricity.
Most politicians now support “green” steel and aluminum, via zero-emissions hydrogen. The hydrogen must be made by electrolysis of water or from methane. Electrolysis is not feasible without the nuclear power they oppose.
And the methane route produces poisonous carbon monoxide, plus more of the carbon dioxide they dread. All processes use more energy than can be generated from the products.
Australia’s huge untapped resources of uranium and hydrocarbons are the envy of the world. But their green tape, locked gates, and death-by-delay strangles all exploration and development.
And Green Guru Ross Garnaut thinks that Australian graziers should harvest kangaroos, not cattle. Let them do both.
The green political revolution started in Tasmania with a gentleman named ‘Brown’ and opposition to a hydro-electric dam proposal which is, of course, a ‘renewable non-fossil-fuel non-carbon-emitting energy supplier.’
The irony has always been lost on them.
Never mistake environmentalism for conservation. The former is a political movement, while the latter requires beneficial outcomes rather than slogans and that, in turn, requires funding. If one wrecks the economy, true conservation is threatened. Less developed countries often have poor conservation records, although timber imported to Australia from unmanaged Indonesian rainforests is ticked off here as ‘green’, whereas timber from well-managed Australian eucalypt forests is not.
‘Green’ should still be a byword for callowness and inexperience. Only those with little knowledge of the real World could not be bothered by the lack of objective thought applied in such circles.
This is not a left versus right political issue, either. The malaise infects both sides here. Very few are willing to speak up.

The Greens pretty much control Australia, a nightmare scenario in anyone’s terms. We were once tough bronzed Aussies who were tough in a tough country. Now we are a wimpy bunch of Commo loving dorks who believe every bit of clap trap about climate change. Our electricity prices are way up, we are blotting our landscapes with infernal wind turbines, we have state Premiers behaving like Josef Stalin and a police force out of control. How in the name of fortune did this beautiful country become the appalling mess in such a short time?
Any so-called “Green” who doesn’t understand that CO2 is the basic ingredient of life on earth is just a television ‘green’. They understand so little of the environment and climate that they just not worth listening to, let alone getting alarmed about. Here is the basic photochemical process that produces all life on earth – photosynthesis: The process of photosynthesis is commonly written as: 6CO2 + 6H2O → C6H12O6 + 6O2. This means that the reactants, six carbon dioxide molecules and six water molecules, are converted by light energy captured by chlorophyll (implied by the arrow) into a sugar molecule and six oxygen molecules, the products. The sugar is used by the organism, and the oxygen is released as a by-product. Without CO2, all life dies. No plants, no animals, no photosynthetic single celled organisms, and eventually not even any dead organisms to decay. And no oxygen rich atmosphere for animals to breathe. CO2 concentrations have been naturally declining from levels as high as 7,000ppm since multicellular life began 600 million years ago. Declining to an alarmingly close to lethal low levels of 180-280ppm. All life begins to die at CO2 levels of 100-150ppm. And that is NOT some instantaneous boundary. Rather, as CO2 levels decline, life’s vigor and strength declines. The more CO2 there is, the stronger and more abundant life is. The pretense that a little more CO2 (120ppm) is not the best thing that has happened to life on earth since it began its natural decline towards a lack of CO2 oblivion, is quite simply a barren ignorance of the science of life – biology. And in the face of a tiny increase of CO2 (120ppm) to levels not seen in twelve million years, while global temperatures remain well within the normal natural patterns of our natural twelve thousand year Holocene interglacial. And within natural temperatures of our ongoing Pleistocene/Holocene ice age, completely debunks as silly on the face of its concept that 0.04% of the atmosphere drives earth’s climate.
