The net mass gain (blue) again exceeded the net mass loss (red) during 2024-2025.

The Greenland ice sheet melt percentage and surface temperature have been flat (to slightly declining) since 2002 (Fang et al., 2023).

How is this possible? We were told that it wouldn’t be long before Greenland would have lost much of its ice. Maybe even be warm enough to justify its name (like it apparently was when the Vikings set up a colony there).
