CCD Editor’s Note: Remember, if it had been abnormally warm in LA during February, that would be proof of global warming. Now that’s it’s the city’s coldest month in 60 years and breaking records, it’s called weather and blamed on climate change.
Downtown Los Angeles, California, failed to reach 70º Fahrenheit (21º Celsius) once in the entire month of February, the first time that has happened since temperature records began, 132 years ago.

For the first time since forecasters began recording data — at least 132 years — the mercury did not reach 70 degrees in downtown Los Angeles for the entire month of February.
The average high for the month was 61 degrees, significantly lower than the historical average of 68 for February.That makes it the eighth-coldest February on record, said Ryan Kittell, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard.

It’s a big change for Southern California, where temperatures having been rising to record levels in recent years along with a prolonged drought. Weather experts said the chilly February doesn’t signal a larger change in some of those trends.
The cold month — the city’s coldest in nearly 60 years — also brought snow to urban Los Angeles for the first time in several years, though it failed to accumulate.
Though the cold month runs against a warming trend, the Times cites experts who say it is the result, broadly, of climate change driven by a rise in average global surface temperatures, which is changing weather patterns.
Other regions of the country also experienced extreme cold earlier this year, with a polar vortex bringing temperatures so cold to Chicago that boiling water froze immediately on contact with the outside air, and clouds of steam rose off Lake Michigan because the lake was so much warmer than the ambient air temperature.

The environmental left claims everything is caused by climate change and they say the extra cold weather was predicted. If it was predicted, shouldn’t we have heard about before the extra cold events? Instead I remember predictions that children wouldn’t know what snow is. I also remember some Alpine ski resorts not up grading their facilities because they listened to the warmest’s predictions.
So, according to the “experts”, Alberta has brought this cold weather on themselves. Beef cattle and fossil fuels.
I know who the real deplorables are. They’re the hypocrites who enjoy all the comforts of modern life, yet condemn the working people who provide them. Ottawa sucks up to Quebec, abuses the West . Trudeau is carrying on the family line of work, until October.
Here in Edmonton, a cold spell started about February 1, and is still going on today on March 1. The daytime high today is -22 C. Today’s Edmonton Sun had a news story with the headline “Edmonton suffers through coldest February in 40 years”. Sure enough, halfway through they quote an “expert” mentioning climate change: ” . . . it is possible you could see this kind of pattern repeat itself as the climate changes.” According to James Hansen, Al Gore, and others the earth is supposed to be baking us, and these COLD temperatures are “climate change”
Marcel, if you depended on a Tesla to get around, would you trust your life to a battery powered heater? You could wear a snowmobile suit, but you’d still need to use the defroster. Using the heater or air conditioning in a Tesla can reduce its range 40%. So it’s sub – zero and windy, do you want to get halfway to your destination? In Alberta?
And what the hell are those snow capped mountains in the background ?

It is damn cold here in Calgary (-23 C) as we start the month of March. I cannot remember it being this cold in years…..if CO2 brings more heat, pump out more CO2……the planet is freezing this morning!
