CLAIM: President Joe Biden said during his address to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday that fighting climate change will create jobs.
VERDICT: MOSTLY FALSE, as Biden’s executive orders to kill the Keystone XL Pipeline cost thousands of Americans their jobs. Also, Biden has provided no solid evidence that those employed in the fossil fuel sector would have the same high-paying jobs in an energy landscape that favors alternative power such as solar and wind.
Biden claimed in the speech that when he thinks of fighting climate change he thinks, “Jobs. Jobs.”
“For too long, we have failed to use the most important word when it comes to meeting the climate crisis,” Biden said. “Jobs. Jobs.”
“For me, when I think about climate change, I think jobs,” Biden said. “The American Jobs Plan will put engineers and construction workers to work building more energy-efficient buildings and homes.”
“Electrical workers installing 500,000 charging stations along our highways,” Biden said. “Farmers planting cover crops, so they can reduce carbon dioxide in the air and get paid for doing it.”
As Breitbart News reported, shutting down the pipeline could lead to 11,000 workers who work directly on the project being laid off and an additional 60,000 indirect jobs taking a hit.
Breitbart News also reported that Biden’s move to end issuing oil drilling leases on federal land could result in the loss of one million American jobs.
Biden’s own Secretary of State admitted earlier this month that Biden’s energy policies would “hit hard” workers in the fossil fuel industry:
Secretary of State Tony Blinken delivered an address on climate change at the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland on Monday in which he admitted that some American workers “would be hit hard” by the Biden administration’s policies.
“Blinken said that the U.S. needed to lead the global fight against climate change, warning that if global surface temperatures continued to rise, in 80 years, the Chesapeake would extend further inland, destroying infrastructure and putting local plants and animals at risk, as well as the local fishing industry,” according to the report.

I really think you should now refer to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue as The Green House
There’s some green jobs right there, painting.

The Washington Times’ Val Richardson joins Inside the Story to talk about how Biden’s war on American energy puts his friends in the DNC in a tight spot.

I have been closely following the climate change fraud for 18 years, and for at least 12 years the environmentalists have been promising a robust economy and high paying jobs. The jobs, just like the disasters they keep promising, never happen.
Just think of all the jobs that aren’t created because of the trillions spent on fighting an imaginary foe…
Dozens of new jobs for Burricrats and all that Redtape and regulations Biden is a Conman just like the rest of t he Democrats
If you throw enough money at something it will always create jobs. Especially when what you bring is inefficient, and can only exist using government subsidy, such as farming without machinery. You could give jobs to 200 people using wheelbarrows vs 2 people with a combine harvester.
The problem is these job are not centralized in regions where coal workers will loose their jobs.
Speaking of combines, these use diesel. Net zero means no diesel. There appears to be no development in progress to make full size electric combines. The closest I found was a combine that uses electric motors for the driving mechanisms but carriers a diesel generator to make the power. There is also the issue of tractors. Electric tractors are available right now, but according to Mike Pankonin, senior director of technical and safety services at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, they don’t have the energy density of a diesel model required to do long, hard work in the field. He said that, “new technology is needed.” Any time we have to wait for new technology it is likely to be a long wait and it is unlikely electric tractors that are adequate for the job will be available by the net zero deadline of 2035.
Of course it is possible. Two tonne lithium battery cartridges, quick change with an electric fork truck.
Doesn’t mean we should do it.
Wars also create jobs.
There’s more to economics than creating jobs.
We have endured decades of environmental rules and regulation in all areas of our economy. Most of the process has resulted in a very clean environment but politicians and bureaucrats are pushing for an extreme solution–elimination of fossil fuels in the US. The only area where CO2 and CC are problematic are computer models. Biden’s energy plan will destroy the American economy including millions of jobs–if we drink his climate kool-aid nobody will be happier than the Chinese Communist Party!
Well said! Joe Biden thought he would be out of a job by now. That’s why he put his son to work, filling the family pension by selling political influence. Low and behold, the old man has won the lottery, selling the Green New Deal.
