European Union carbon emissions from burning fossil fuels increased in 2017, statistics office Eurostat said on Friday, indicating that the reduction of emissions blamed for climate change remains a challenge.
Carbon emissions in the EU were up 1.8 percent from 2016, Eurostat said, with a double-digit increase in Malta and Estonia.
Finland and Denmark showed the sharpest declines while emissions in Germany, the bloc’s largest economy and still dependent on coal for 40 percent of its electricity, was little changed….
While the 2008 financial crisis had a dampening effect on industrial activity, recent increases in economic growth have been accompanied by higher emissions of carbon.

What’s missing from the report card is the premature deaths (10’s of thousands ) do to fuel poverty from deceitful government policies .
Also missing from the report card is the 330,000 homes in Germany that had their power cut off because they couldn’t afford the power made more expensive by renewables. Also missing is the carbon leak. This is a European term for industry moving to other nations and taking their jobs with them due to cost of power in Europe.

And we still have our idiot ministers in the UK grand standing all cars will be electric by 2040. Where is all the electric power for charging all these millions of cars coming from? Of course they haven’t thought about that.
