A major environmental group is prepping dozens of lawsuits against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for rolling back environmental regulations, The Washington Examiner reports.
Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) President Rhea Suh circulated a note to supporters Saturday, asking for more money as her organization readies for the upcoming court battles.
“It’s a new year, but EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt wants to roll back the clock on environmental protections and drag us back decades,” Suh wrote, according to The Washington Examiner.
“The best antidote to Pruitt’s illegal attacks on our environment? Federal court,” she added. “We’re gearing up to file suits on dozens of fronts in the year ahead.”

The EPA is on track to retire half of its staff by the end of President Donald Trump’s first term in office. The agency’s workforce could be the leanest it has been since 1972, two years after the EPA was created.
The NRDC, along with other green groups, unsuccessfully attempted to halt Trump’s “one in, two out” executive order, saying that forcing agencies to cut two regulations before implementing another was irrational, The Hill reports.
The White House announced in December that since the “one in, two out” rule went into effect, 22 regulations have been cut for every new one adopted. A senior official told The Washington Free Beacon the cuts have saved $8.1 billion in lifetime net regulatory costs.

The scare that was instrumental in bringing to the forefront of the news the idea that man’s activities would seriously harm the environment was the notion that the use of the (man-made) insecticide DDT would eventually kill all the birds and pose serious health risks to humans.
This one was the brainchild of American biologist Rachel Carson, who published a book in 1962 pushing this idea. The book was called ‘Silent Spring’ and it was not only a bestseller, the American public swallowed it wholesale. It led to an almost- worldwide ban on the production of DDT, which would not be relaxed for 30 years. ‘Silent Spring’ on careful examination turned out to be riddled with bad science, speculation and lies, but it seems people wanted to believe its message.
One guy who took Carson’s message to heart was William Ruckelshaus, the first director of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA was established in 1970 by that paragon of virtue, US President Richard Nixon. Ruckelshaus set up an enquiry into the pros and cons of DDT, chaired by judge William Sweeney. Judge Sweeney held seven months of hearings, with testimony from witnesses running to 9,000 pages and concluded that DDT was harmless to humans and posed no health risk, not even to birds.
Ruckelshaus, who had connections with the radical Environmental Defence Fund had, by his own admission, never attended any of the hearings and had not even read judge Sweeney’s report. But under pressure from his Environmentalist fellow-travellers, he took it upon himself to rule that DDT was indeed a cancer-causing substance, a decision which eventually led to a ban on its production in the USA in 1972. He is also quoted as saying ”science, it can help, but this is a political decision”.
The EPA was rotten to the core from the get-go and nothing has changed. Trump should just abolish it.

Why are these law suits even heard? They are without merit and should be dismissed as nuisances.
It really frustrates me that victims of activists law suits don’t counter sue. Having to pay up on counter suit settlements of dozens of law suits would bankrupt these organizations. It might also be possible get settlements against the attorneys and leaders of these organizations.
Now that the EPA isn’t financing the economic destruction of the USA groups that are ECO – Anarchists are going to be up against the people and that are going to lose .
