Thousands of Dutch farmers are heading en masse to the Netherlands capital, the Hague, to protest against environmental policies being inflicted on them by their coalition government.
Hundreds have converged on the capital by tractor, causing total tailbacks in excess of 1,000 km (620 miles) and bringing the city to a standstill.
According to Dutch News NL:
The demonstration has been prompted by a suggestion from coalition party D66 that Dutch livestock farming should be slashed to meet commitments on reducing nitrogren emissions.
Farming organisations say their members are sick of being described by politicians, the media and activists as pollutors and animal abusers.

The protests – the equivalent of France’s Gilets Jaunes – have widespread support from the Dutch people:

Some information is needed to be clear here so we all know what the issues are. Nitrogen pollution has no impact on warming not even in some left’s theory. Nitrogen pollution isn’t atmospheric which is N2, but fixed nitrogen. Some examples would be the ions NO2 or NO3. Unlike CO2, there are places where nitrogen pollution is a legitimate problem. What it does is act as an over fertilizer and causes excessive growth of alga in water ways. This eventually dies and then it rots and bacteria can deplete the water of oxygen. There are good solutions to this problem but slashing livestock farming should not be one of them. One solution is to address the fact that farmers tend to use more fertilizer than they need. Cutting back does not harm crop yields but does limit the excess fixed nitrogen going into the environment. Another solution is to line the run off path with plants that adsorb the nitrogen. The root of the issue here is that coalition party would just as soon hurt the farmers than get smart on this issue.
Since when is the Hague the capital of the Netherlands?
Amsterdam is the capital, but The Hague is the government city.
In the Netherlands the Council of State has made a change in nitrogen emissions laws that is now holding up lots of construction permits too. They claim that building in areas that are now natural releases nitrogen! Nitrogen is 78% of the atmosphere. Like CO2, it is NOT a poison or “pollution.” See a story at: https://nltimes.nl/2019/09/25/nitrogen-emissions-delay-work-zandvoort-f1-circuit
There’s been a slow but steady exodus of European farmers to Canada (maybe USA too?). Government bureaucracies and their harrassment, the cost of compliance, are often cited as reasons for pulling up stakes.
They’re jumping from the frying pan into the fire. The Greens are here, too.
Just shows that most people, even if they think CO2 may be contributing to warming, are unwilling to make the changes the elite are pushing. 89% shows very few agree with the elite.
Get a good look at this Liberals the Dutch are not dancing to your little band of Go Green all this nonsense about Climate Change and meat consumption is based upon Junk Science and Politics and the Animal Rights idiots from HSUS and PETA
