Federal bureaucrats and their media allies are conducting a targeted public relations campaign promoting reports that atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations are higher than at any point in the past 3.6 million years.
This, they say, is more proof of a ‘climate crisis’.
However, current temperatures are nowhere near as high as they’ve been in that same time span. That begs the question: is carbon dioxide really the ‘control knob’ for global temperatures, as climate activists assert?
The disconnect between ‘highest-ever’ CO2 emissions and real-world temperatures that are not following suit is powerful evidence that the Earth is far less sensitive to fluctuating carbon dioxide concentrations than alarmists assert.
According to a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) press release, “The atmospheric burden of CO2 is now comparable to where it was during the Mid-Pliocene Warm Period around 3.6 million years ago when concentrations of carbon dioxide ranged from about 380 to 450 parts per million.
“During that time sea level was about 78 feet higher than today, the average temperature was 7 degrees Fahrenheit higher than in pre-industrial times, and studies indicate large forests occupied areas of the Arctic that are now tundra.”
If climate activists’ theory is correct that carbon dioxide is the primary factor influencing global temperature changes, then current temperatures should be just as warm as they were 3.6 million years ago. Yet they are not.
Also, the NOAA press release forgets to mention that while atmospheric carbon dioxide levels throughout the past 10,000 years were significantly lower than today, global temperatures throughout most of that time span were significantly higher than today (see page 4, here).
Once again, if carbon dioxide is the primary factor influencing global temperatures, why have temperatures been warmer than today throughout most of the time period of human civilization?
Going further back in time, there were many other time periods between 10,000 and 3.6 million years ago when temperatures were significantly higher than today, and yet atmospheric carbon dioxide levels were less than today.
In summary, ‘record’ atmospheric carbon dioxide levels failing to result in record global temperatures shows that climate activists are dramatically overstating the impact of atmospheric carbon dioxide levels on global temperatures – regardless of what government bureaucrats and their media allies assert.

The atmosphere is made up of 21% Oxygen and 78% Nitrogen leaving 1% of miscellaneous gases including Argon and Carbon Dioxide (C02). C02 constitutes 0.04% of the total atmosphere. Humanity contributes 1.3% of this 0.04% and of this 1.3% Australia contributes 1.0%.

What in the name of common sense is all this fuss about.
Plants require C02 to survive. You may have noticed Greenhouses pump C02 into their closed environment to enhance and improve plant growth.
Since C02 levels slightly increased prior to COVID, satellite coverage evidenced an increased greening of the Planet.
If the levels of C02 in the atmosphere drop to 150 parts per million then all plant life dies therefore so does everything else including US!
During the Jurassic period C02 levels were 17 times higher than now yet this was the time of greatest proliferation of plant and animal life in the history of the Planet.
So explain to me again what net zero emissions will achieve apart from an unreliable power source, (eg Texas, California, Germany,
Adelaide etc).
All this concentration on C02 reduction is not only dangerous but is costing trillions in global conferences, loss of production, media and political propaganda and endless fraudulent indoctrination especially in schools and universities.
Even the statement that C02 increase is responsible for global warming has been debunked by eminent and emeritus scientists and climatologists not on government payrolls or reliant on government grants.
Basic research will validate every statement that Zi have made here.

Of course we must all bow in awe of the vast scientific climate knowledge of the Doom Goblin!
What kind of computers and satellites and “green” politicians and media barons did they have 3.6 million years ago? Who stored these records? Maybe intelligent late dinosaurs? Must have been amazingly accurate measurements, unless maybe it was perhaps 3.9 million, or even 4.2 million, or whatever? Where were these figures found and stored? But I guess it all helps us get a more complete picture of earth history, and as St Greta says we must trust “the science”.
Final thought: are these doom mongers getting desperate?
Step 1: Tell everyone the atmospheric concentrations of a life-giving gas that is increasing slightly for good reason is causing a climate crisis.
Step 2: Invoke these slightly rising concentrations as proof of this crisis.
Step 3: Repeat this circular argument. Daily.
Step 4: Rule.
Forever.
The lack of correlation between carbon dioxide levels and temperature has been known for a long time. For just as long the climate activists and their media allies have ignored it. I find the article’s use of words interesting, “The atmospheric burden of CO2.” Carbon dioxide is not a burden in the atmosphere. It is a plant food that has caused the greening of the earth and significantly higher crop yields.
Valentina Zharkova from the Northubria University in the UK, in her studies of Solar Cycles stated that the next couple of decades should get cooler because of a solar minimum but later on in the century there will be warming of about 2.5 degreesC.
CO2 is needed by plants to grow and therefore is needed for all life on Earth to Regulate or Ban it is totaly impossible and totaly irresposible but thats why the democrats want it
