Avatar director James Cameron, a climate change activist, said he can “relate to” Marvel villain Thanos’s plan to kill billions upon billions of people as well as other creatures in the universe for the sake of population control.
In the Avengers finale, Thanos famously wanted to destroy half of the universe’s population to preserve its finite resources — a possible allegory for climate change extremists. According to Cameron, Thanos had a plan that he can relate to. [emphasis, links added]
“I can relate to Thanos,” Cameron told Time. “I thought he had a pretty viable answer. The problem is nobody is going to put up their hand to volunteer to be the half that has to go.”
Time did not specify if Cameron meant his alleged support for Thanos as a joke.
Cameron’s statement comes after his Avatar: The Way of Water grossed over $2 billion, further adding to his (much-deserved) reputation as the most bankable director in Hollywood history.
Over the years, the director has not been shy to share his beliefs about climate change, which his beloved franchise seeks to explore.
In December of last year, Cameron also decried what he called a growing surge in gun violence, adding that he edited 10 minutes out of the Avatar sequel to limit the display of guns.
“I’m happy to be living in New Zealand where they just banned all assault rifles two weeks after that horrific mosque shooting a couple of years ago,” he told Esquire.

How profoundly evil. On so many levels.
I was told in no uncertain terms of the depopulation plan some years before it was signed and sealed last century, to be delivered by 2030.
The film industry is full of the people I’m talking about. They’re the same people Mel Gibson talks about when he says that Hollywood has its own religion (which is sort of true – it is much more widespread than that).
Without understanding this, an understanding of the World is impossible. Those who think they understand it, but don’t really, may be identified by their emotional reactions to planned baiting. Fake conservative media specialise in encouraging such emotional responses.
Emotions are easily hijacked. Hollywood exists for that reason, to hijack emotion. Removing the emotion drastically reduces the control. It is the first step to actually being the strong person one already thinks one is.
Without their audience submitting to a willing suspension of disbelief, Hollywood (La La Land) doesn’t survive. The Western world has let its guard down. George Santos is an “actor” , a red flag for those who sleep walk through life. Trudeau and Biden are obviously WEF puppets. We need an electorate that embraces self preservation.
The alleged quote attributed to George Bush about what people would do if they knew what he was up to would apply equally to Hollywood. They know the audience is busy watching the make-believe, however.
Too bad he didn’t start with Cameron.
Dear James, we’re glad your sorry ass is living in New Zealand also!
How about some aliens destroying the United Nations the whole darn place to totally annihilate the whole facility then leave New York San Fransisco and L.A(Including Hollywood). in total ruins
