To deal with the worldwide energy crisis and the ESG recession, Alex Epstein, author of Fossil Future: Why Global Human Flourishing Requires More Oil, Coal, and Natural Gas — Not Less has suggested that:
“Joe Biden can end the global energy crisis in 3 easy steps: 1. Promise to stop his anti-fossil fuel-fuel agenda for the remainder of his administration. 2. Withdraw from the Paris Agreement. 3. Encourage other countries to do 1 and 2. Production will surge, prices will plummet.”
To create credibility regarding energy markets (including oil and natural gas), Biden would need to take several additional steps to make people believe he was serious about promising to stop his anti-fossil fuel agenda for the remainder of his administration.
The first step is to fire John Kerry, Biden’s special presidential envoy for climate change.
Kerry’s recent comments opposing building more fossil fuel infrastructure are just the latest example of why Biden needs to fire Kerry to create credibility in promising to abandon his anti-fossil-fuel agenda.
Kerry has been on a decades-long campaign to put the oil companies out of business. Kerry should be fired, and his position should be eliminated.
The second step is to fire Gina McCarthy, Biden’s National Climate Advisor.
McCarthy is a former EPA administrator under Barack Obama and a true believer that there are no benefits coming from the fossil fuel industry, only downsides.
McCarthy is one of the primary proponents of eliminating fossil fuels and transitioning to wind and solar.
She believes this so strongly that she wants to censor people who speak against her orthodoxy. Her failed ideology has led to the current energy crisis. McCarthy should be fired, and her position should be eliminated.
The third step is to fire Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm.
Granholm is publicly a true believer in shifting away from fossil fuels. She wants to eliminate fossil fuels from our energy industry.
Why would anyone in the fossil fuel industry trust this person? They shouldn’t and as long as she is around, they won’t trust any promise made by Biden.
Granholm needs to be fired and replaced by someone that the fossil fuel industry trusts to support them in increasing production over the long term.
There are other personnel decisions that would need to be made to complete the pivot of the Biden administration, but this housecleaning needs to start at the top.
Only then will the current “energy crisis” come to an end.

Harnessing Hot Air would go a long ways but we would need Gore or DiCaprio in every city on earth
Not only are fossil fuels our future, but they are also making our future greener. Doddering old incompetents and indoctrinated whiners and complainers have no idea how.
Remove all hard core Eco-Wackos from the Government jobs they hold lets give that job to someone with more common sense
Before we can have an intelligent, well informed debate (finally) about a COHERENT national energy strategy & attendant policies, we first need to STOP shouting at each other. Unfortunately, the Biden Administration is “chocked full” of climate zealots who have little to NO UNDERSTANDING of energy imperatives. The energy transition will be driven by physics, NOT blind ideology. Right now, no one can produce a single (creditable) peer reviewed engineering study that demonstrates slogans like “100% renewables by X Date” is even remotely practical or feasible. Look no further than the EU, Ontario, S. Australia, California & Texas for examples of the green “folly.” These are WARNING SIGNS…HEED THEM! Even IF you could demonstrate a climate “crisis,” you have no scalable, sustainable & cost effective means to currently replace 80% of our nations primary energy which fossil fuels provide. Just fact. You can verify that total & projections for energy use out to 2050 in the EIA 2022 Energy Outlook. So, what constructive purpose does it serve to VILIFY energy providers when you DO NOT have a viable alternative when you insist on wind, solar & current battery technology? The next “Big Thing” in the energy arena is NOT old technology like “renewables”. The future energy transition, in electricity at least, would appear to go combined cycle natural gas/modular nuclear to (ultimately) fusion over the next decades. The federal government has repeatedly shown they are inept at picking winners & losers. Allocation of resources and the direction of transportation, industrial heat, consumer products, etc. are ALL better served if the marketplace dictates that evolution, NOT government fiat. So, while firing most of his staff might be a good start, that is just a FIRST STEP in a long race. We are best served if we pace ourselves. That and ENOUGH drama & theater. This is NOT a social science experiment. The energy arena is best suited for the science & engineering side of campus…
Unfortunately there is zero chance of Biden doing anything listed in the article since what is happening is exactly what he wants. As you say, there exists no peer reviewed study that shows we can get to net-zero because it cannot happen. Unfortunately there’s not anybody in the MSM that pushes back on the claims we can do this.
