Arctic sea-ice extent continues to run well ahead of the last few years, as it has done for most of this year so far, and continues to grow at a time of year when it normally begins to stabilize and recede.
The average extent in February was the highest since 2013, and stands greater than 2005 and 2006:

Meanwhile, down under sea-ice extent has recovered strongly at the summer minimum in the last year or two, and is back to 1980’s levels.

Hopefully, as we leave the LIA, the planet will continue to warm and most of that deadly ice will go.
Just consider the boom to shipping from opening not just the NW passage but the great northern shipping lanes, to sail right over the North Pole.
Maybe by then Greenland could be opened up for agriculture, and a thriving tourist industry built around beach-side vacationing, and aquatic sports.
I suspect this will not happen in any of our lifetimes though.

I have been following sea ice extent at both poles for quite a while. The reports on the NSIDC site continue to have a negative tone. It’s time for all media, governments and climate science posers to stop asking generations of people to endlessly battle nothing but the variable nature of weather. None of the measures proposed have any proven impact on “climate change”! We do not live in a greenhouse! Our atmosphere is always radiating energy to space! CO2 is not the thermostat of earth; venal liars are using it as a blunt instrument to beat us back to the stone age. Blaming humans for “climate change” is the biggest hoax in world history!
