New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez seemed to take a victory lap on the Green New Deal, claiming her effort proved Republicans’ “climate denial is now a losing position.”

Ocasio-Cortez and Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey, both Democrats, introduced the Green New Deal resolution in February, which calls for a complete societal transformation to fight global warming.

In fact, not a single Senate Democrat voted for the Green New Deal when it was brought to the floor in March. On the House side, Speaker Nancy Pelosi has not brought the Green New Deal to the floor, nor have any hearings been held.
Ocasio-Cortez claimed that her Green New Deal “offensive” made “climate denial” a “losing position.” However, new polling shows that support for the Green New Deal decreased among voting groups over the last year.
A new Yale and George Mason University poll found that “the Green New Deal had become much more politically polarized” by April 2019. Support among moderate Democrats fell from 90 to 88 percent from April 2018 to April 2019, the poll found.
The poll found “support among Republicans dropped dramatically (-20 percentage points), including among conservative Republicans (-25 points) and liberal/moderate Republicans (-11 points).”
The more Republicans heard about the Green New Deal, the less likely they were to support the plan, pollsters wrote in their summary of results released Wednesday.
Likewise, Democratic presidential frontrunner Joe Biden has not endorsed the Green New Deal. Biden is seeking a “middle ground” when it comes to climate change policies, sources told Reuters. The Green New Deal is also opposed by labor unions.
Ocasio-Cortez, however, still plans on campaigning to make the Green New Deal a top priority in the 2020 elections and is slated to attend a Washington, D.C., rally with an environmental group created to rally young voters around climate change.

There are a lot of fence sitters in the Republican Party and it is going to bite them in the arse . It is increasingly apparent many of the elected officials
are just lazy and will go where ever the wind blows them .
They better get on the Trump train because it is a once in a life time opportunity . Obama checked out the second term and played golf .

Republicans /Conservatives have decided to waffle on the climate change issue by paying lip service to it. That’s a calculated political tactic. I don’t like it. It’s cynical and lazy.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is so poorly informed she doesn’t know that there has never been an issue on whether the climate is changing. So how could Republicans have changed their mind on this issue? Climate realists know that the weather has always been changing. It seems as if the climate alarmists don’t know this in that they think the climate was stable until man started our emissions. As far as Republicans now believing climate change is man made, I have never heard of any vote or motion supporting that.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez apparently only talks to people who agree with her. That increases her ignorance. The general pubic is not willing to pay the high price necessary to implement her agenda. If the Republicans get the word as to the cost, supporting the Green New Deal will be a liability in 2020.
The high price necessary to implement her agenda is irrelevant because the whole GND is totally unfeasible. What it proposes is, quite simply, not only stupid, but impossible. It is a politically motivated fantasy that has absolutely no basis in fact. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a 29 year-old former bartender from the Bronx who has somehow become an American political phenomenon, but her ignorance seems bottomless and she has no credentials whatever to be making all these outrageous and impossible proposals. Her rise has been meteoric and without any rational foundation. She has even taken Nancy Pelosi’s gavel to become Speaker of the House for a day. My God! Have we completely lost our minds?
