The leftists participating in the weekly Fire Drill Fridays want to eliminate the fossil fuel industry and take all the money from the energy industry companies.
They tout wealth redistribution from fossil fuel companies as the piggy bank to fund the Green New Deal.
In other words, take the profits of capitalism and give the money to a socialist takeover of the energy sector. Sound good?
A woman named Tamara To’L, described as an Environmental Strategist delivered an aggressive message to the crowd. She conflated climate change and racism as she tried to get the crowd fired up.
“Shout out if you want to destroy fossil fuel capitalists.” That sounds almost like inciting violence, doesn’t it? “Let me hear your vigor for ending racism while you do it.” “We need to make them pay today.”
Her speech sounded like an all-purpose rant as she vented about people “who look like her” and her local roots.
Her proposal is to redistribute “trillions” of dollars to pay for the Green New Deal. Jane Fonda, the founder of these weekly protests, sat behind Tamara on the stage and nodded her head in approval, yelling along with the crowd in response.

Is it me or does Jane Fonda look a lot less energetic than when she began these Friday protests? She still wears the red coat and hats but she seems to be running out of steam.
Next week will be the last scheduled Fire Drill Fridays protest – she has to get back to her day job and film the next season of Netflix’s Grace and Frankie – so maybe she is just winding down.
Only two celebrities were mentioned this week and both were returning protesters – Sam Waterson, Fonda’s co-star in Grace and Frankie, and young Iain Armitage who stars in Young Sheldon.
You may remember that Iain is also the grandson of Richard Armitage who was Colin Powell’s deputy secretary of state during the George W. Bush administration.
Armitage let Scooter Libby take the fall for the leak of CIA agent Valerie Plume. Maybe young Iain was in town to visit gramps. Waterson was re-arrested Friday but, as with his last appearance, Iain was not.
Jane Fonda calls it putting your body on the line as she encourages civil disobedience.
Looks like Sam Waterson fell for it again. He was led off to the local jail as his friend Jane escaped arrest once again. It is reported that 40 other people were arrested.
The protesters were arrested on the same charges as previous weeks.
Eva Malecki, spokeswoman for the U.S. Capitol Police, told The Hollywood Reporter that the federal agency responded to “unlawful demonstration activity at First and East Capitol Streets, [where] forty individuals were arrested and charged with D.C. Code 22-1307, Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding.”
Director and playwright Josh Fox participated in the protest. He is an environmental activist best known for his Oscar-nominated, Emmy-winning 2010 documentary, Gasland.
Gasland is an anti-fracking documentary that the entertainment industry embraced as the gospel as they did with Al Gore’s Inconvenient Truth.
Fox calls himself a Bernie Sanders campaign surrogate. He told the crowd, “This industry kills people, and it kills children, and it does so with impunity and then it lies about it.”
Iain Armitage wished Greta Thunberg a happy birthday and referred to Jane Fonda as “Grandma” in a tweet.
The eleven-year-old actor made a New Year’s resolution to give up using plastic. Good luck with that one, kid.
This is the problem with environmental activists – they are oblivious to the practical hindrances to their fossil-fuel-free utopia. Iain should tell Grandma Jane that those sunglasses she wears are made with plastic.
So is that parka he is wearing. The oil and gas industry is working to find alternative fuel options and has been for years, which may surprise younger activists.
The industry employs hundreds of thousands of people from white-collar jobs to blue-collar jobs. The world may be moving toward using more alternative energy but even America is not ready for major change.
We can’t just simply leave it in the ground, as the activists demand. Slogans aren’t solutions. Nuclear energy, the cleanest of all energy sources, is never mentioned. Some truths are more inconvenient than others, I guess.
Next Friday’s protest will be the last for Fonda and I assume for her celebrity pals.

As I have suggested numerous times on various internet sites, the ENTIRE discussion is completely wrong. Using climate alarmism and tactics to vilify energy PROVIDERS is completely baseless. You cannot get the RIGHT answers if you ask the WRONG questions. So, once again, I respectfully submit that the debate needs to change from blame to RESULTS. As such, the focus needs to be on the ongoing energy TRANSITION & attendant environmental protection. All the emotion & HYPE needs to be minimized and rationality is in desperate need of a HUGE comeback! In this more sensible framework, only ONE question needs to be answered if fossil fuels are to be phased out in the U.S energy system: “What CLEAN, SCALABLE & SUSTAINABLE alternative is proposed to REPLACE 95% of our transportation fuel & industrial heat & 65% of our electricity?” If you’ll notice, NONE of these “activists” ever address this fundamental challenge with a constructive SOLUTION. Time to OVERHAUL the debate. Drama & “theater” needs to take a back seat to PHYSICS. POLITICAL science as a primary “driver” needs to be replaced by PHYSICAL science. Informed citizens need to start demanding RATIONAL debate. Otherwise, some really BAD policy decisions are going to be made that will CRAMP most Americans lifestyle…
Randy, you never hear of real solutions from the climate change activist because that isn’t the goal. Some want to use climate change as an excuse for new taxes, such as those on CO2 emissions. Others want to force de-industrialization by making energy scarce and expensive. Many believe that the middle class standard of living is excessive and want to force lowering it. As Christiana Figueres, former head of the IPCC said, the purpose of climate change is to transfer wealth from the industrial nations to the developing nations. The leaders of the extinction rebellion said their purpose is to punish society for using capitalism and not accepting homosexuality. Others want to use climate change to destroy free enterprise, or expand government power and control. People with such motivations are not going to be offering solutions.
As usual the liberals have things reversed and their basic concepts wrong. First, fossil fuels do not cause damage since carbon dioxide isn’t a problem. The second concept is it is the end user, not those who sell a legal product who are responsible for any damages. Consider drunk driving.
If reparations are in order, it is the climate activists that need to pay. Consider those in Georgetown Texas who are paying an extra thousand dollars a month on their power bills to solve a problem that doesn’t exist, or the people in southern Australia who have had their power bills doubled, or Germany where the power bills have tripled. Also due for reparations are the families of those in the UK who have died because they can’t afford to heat their homes to adequate level. If there are reparations, Steyer, Bloomberg and others are responsible for so much damage that payment would exceed their total worth.
How about Reparations for our Farmers and Ranchers that had their property seized by Government Buricrats over so called endangered Lizard,Rats,Frogs,Snails and Fish how about all those who are the victims of the Eco-Nazis/Watermelons

These so called ‘environmentalists’ are the biggest fools on the planet. Fossil fuels have made modern life possible. Electricity, transportation, agriculture, pharmaceuticals all owe their current development state of development to fossil fuels. The ideas and actions of these environmental activists are aiding and abetting societal destruction that could lead to totalitarianism. Their true aim is to deprive us and everyone on earth the benefits of modern life. We are witnessing the rebirth of virulent fascism, if implemented, will plunge us into a new dark age.
Can’t fix stupid. The modern world is filled with ‘environmentalists’ who have no clue about the environment or the science that studies it. Who have no clue that CO2 is the basic ingredient molecule of life on earth. Who have no clue that using fossil fuels recycles the basic essential molecule of life on earth, CO2, to the biosphere from where it came. Who have no clue that we’ve been on a 600 million year natural slide down from 7000ppm CO2 to our current near lethal low levels of CO2. Who have no clue that 7-12 million people die EVERY YEAR from a LACK OF ENERGY. Or that only 56 thousand die from climate related causes, real and imaginary. Down from 500 thousand deaths from climate one hundred years ago. Thanks to fossil fuel powered development.
