NBC News is hyping a report that claims meteorologists are supporting the George Mason and Climate Central effort to promote climate change fears on your nightly weather forecast. See: ‘Global warming,’ now brought to you by local TV weathercaster
The climate information being promoted by the activist meteorologists is highly suspect and the groups behind the effort have supported shutting down any scientific debate by supporting RICO statures against skeptics and they have benefited greatly from federal funding of their efforts.
The information the meteorologists are peddling is pure propaganda, as the video accompanying the article shows a montage of weather forecasters using a 1970 start date to claim warming temperatures. Ever wonder why they chose 1970 as the start date?

NBC News describes thusly the effort to turn your local weatherman into a mini Al Gore:
“Key to the shift has been Climate Central, the nonprofit that helped school LaPointe. The Princeton, New Jersey-based organization sponsors classes and webinars for meteorologists and also shares real-time data and graphics with TV stations. The group has reached more than 500 local TV weathercasters — about a quarter of those working in the U.S. — since it started its “Climate Matters” education program in 2012, and it is expanding this week to a wider group of journalists.”
Who is Climate Central? A climate activist group funded by the federal tax dollars that helps promote climate fears.

NBC News touts George Mason professor Ed Maibach as “the climate change center’s director” at the University.
Who is Ed Maibach and just who is behind the effort to turn your weather forecast into nightly climate propaganda?
Excerpt: “Maibach, you may be surprised to learn, is no climate scientist but has a BA in social psychology from University of California, and a PhD in communication research from Stanford University.” According to the Centre’s blurb: “Ed joined the George Mason University faculty in 2007 to create the Center for Climate Change Communication. Trained in public health and communication…”
Maibach was also a signatory of the infamous letter to President Obama urging the use of RICO statutes against climate skeptics.

NASA pumps funding into the Center in order to persuade the public of the terrors of global warming, which in turn will help to maintain their own funding, which can then be used to further ramp up the scare. It is no wonder Mr Maibach is so keen to sign the (RICO) letter, and silence skeptics”
Maibach has a long history of climate propaganda.

In the emails, the professors decided to ignore questions from FoxNews.com about why the lead petition author, Jagadish Shukla, used government grants to give himself and his family some $500,000 in salary and benefits in 2014 — which FoxNews.com reported in October.
The professors decided to reach out to the Washington Post instead. “They were running a well-used page in their playbook … get the legacy media to play defense for them,” Chris Horner, who forced the public release of the emails by filing a “Freedom of Information Act” request, told FoxNews.com.

This article touches several points including liberal hypocrisy. Liberals are always claiming that the only reason for opposing the climate change agenda is due to taking money for energy companies. Yet, this movement is taking billions from the federal government, Climate Central is one example.
Trying to prosecute climate skeptics violates the Constitution, but it seems like liberals don’t believe in that. They do know that silencing the skeptic is critical because their information is devastating to the movement. Consider “There is no empirical evidence that fossil fuels use affects climate” and “Fossil fuels emit only 3% of total CO2 emissions.”
Cherry picking starting points that are not representative is common practice of the climate change movement. This is why they start with the temperatures of the 1970’s, one of the coldest in history. That is also why they picked 1988 for the base line for ocean acidification. That year had the highest pH (least acid) value for decades.
Last, you don’t need a massive propaganda effort to spread the truth. Such an effort is only essential if you want people to believe lies.
Climate change is a false premise for regulating or taxing carbon dioxide emissions. Political or business leaders who advocate unwarranted taxes and regulations on fossil fuels will be seen as fools or knaves. Climate change may or may not be occurring, but is NOT caused by human fossil fuels use.
There is no empirical evidence that fossil fuels use affects climate. Likely and well-documented causes include sunspot cycles, earth/sun orbital changes, cosmic ray effects on clouds and tectonic plate activity. The further point here is that earth naturally recycles all carbon dioxide.
Fossil fuels emit only 3% of total CO2 emissions. 95% comes from rotting vegetation and other sources. All the ambient CO2 in the atmosphere is promptly converted in the oceans to calcite (limestone) and other carbonates, mostly through biological paths. CO2 + CaO => CaCO3.
99.84% of all carbon on earth is already sequestered as sediments in earth’s crust. The lithosphere is a massive hungry carbon sink that converts ambient CO2 to carbonate almost as soon as it is emitted.
The Paris Treaty is now estimated to cost up to to $100 trillion — $13,333 per human being. Nearly two-thirds of humanity’s cumulative savings over history. And will not affect climate at all.
A modern coal power plant emits few air effluents except water vapor and carbon dioxide. Coal remains the lowest cost and most reliable source of electric energy, along with natural gas.
Coal & gas dominate electric energy generation because they are cheap. Without the CO2-driven global-warming boogeyman, wind and solar power will be relegated to the niches they deserve. Using renewable energy is like paying first-class airfare to fly standby.
