The disease has also been found in one Los Angeles area orchard, potentially putting California's citrus groves at risk. Billions of dollars and thousands of jobs are at stake. Introduced and spread by the flying aphid-like Asian citrus psyllid, citrus greening is also called HLB, from the Mandarin word for "yellow dragon disease."
