FERC Admits Fewer Coal Plants Forcing Consumers to Pay Higher Energy Costs in Winter

One of the country’s primary energy regulators suggested Tuesday that a lack of coal power would not have caused widespread power outages during this winter’s arctic blasts.

A top regulator appointed by President Donald Trump last year suggested at a Senate hearing that the electric grid could have operated without coal so long as customers were willing to pay higher energy prices.

New U.S. Navy Warship Frozen in Ice in Montreal Until Spring Thaw

The US Navy’s newest littoral combat ship, the USS Little Rock, is stuck in ice caused by global warming.

The USS Little Lock (LCS-9), a brand new U.S. Navy warship that has been stuck in Montreal for weeks due to icy weather, will spend the rest of the winter in Canada.

The littoral combat ship, which was commissioned in Buffalo, New York on Dec. 16, was beginning its maiden journey to its home port in Jacksonville, Florida, when on Christmas Eve, it could not move through the ice in the St. Lawrence Seaway.

The St. Lawrence Seaway connects the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean and flows through Montreal.

RIP John Coleman—Weather Channel Co-Founder Who Called Climate Change ‘Baloney’

John Coleman’s Weather Channel days.

John Coleman, the cheerful, politically incorrect and fearless co-founder of the Weather Channel, has died at 83, surrounded by family at his Las Vegas home.

The bad news is that he lived long enough to see his creation turn into yet another propaganda arm of the Climate Industrial Complex churning out #fakenews stories like this one.

The good news is that he just didn’t give a damn.

Climate insurance is the latest wealth transfer shakedown

The primary goal of the international climate negotiations is to transfer huge amounts of money from the US and other developed countries to the developing countries.

Some of the various schemes for doing this are well established, but a breathtaking new one is emerging — climate insurance.

The basic idea is very simple, which good scams always are. The Federal Government (in other words, taxpayers) buys climate insurance for specific developing countries.

Winter Storm Inga Barrels East And Dumps More Snow And Ice

Winter Storm Inga is dumping snow, sleet, and ice throughout the Northeast and South Tuesday and Wednesday, creating icy conditions and hampering travel through a significant portion of the U.S., according to the National Weather Service.

While parts of Kentucky have already received nine inches of snow, most areas can expect just enough to cover and close roads in the South. Snowfall in the Northeast is expected to be no worse than normal, anywhere from two to six inches in most areas.

Weather events behind late-2015 Arctic warmth, not global warming

Melting sea ice can form puddles on its surface. NASA

CCD Editor’s note: For those that don’t remember, many alarmist news outlets blamed the late-2015 warmth in parts of the Arctic on global warming. They even quoted climatologists who said this had climate change written all over it.

In the winter of 2015/16, something happened that had never before been seen on this scale: at the end of December, temperatures rose above zero degrees Celsius (32°F) for several days in parts of the Arctic.

Temperatures of up to eight degrees were registered north of Svalbard. Temperatures this high have not been recorded in the winter half of the year since the beginning of systematic measurements at the end of the 1970s.

Journos blame global warming for Perth’s abundance of rain

South West WA and Perth have been the Australian posterchild for Water-Panic for years.

We were destined to be an abandoned ghost town with worthless property:

Perth is set to become the world’s first ‘Ghost City’ according to a long-term weather forecaster and a news anchor.

“I’m reading here that unless drastic action is taken, Perth could become the world’s first ghost city – a modern metropolis abandoned by the 1.7 million people there for lack of water,” she said.

Bad Weather Is No Reason for Climate Alarm

Two weeks ago, President Donald Trump greeted the cold snap that was gripping much of the U.S. by tweeting, “Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming.” He was criticized for confusing weather with climate. But he’s hardly alone in making this mistake, as we have seen in coverage of the most destructive weather-related events of 2017.

New Study Stomps On Alarmists’ Claims That Global Warming Worsens Winters

The recent cold snap was “highly unusual in the current climate,” and not the product of man-made global warming, a new study found.

But wait, other scientists said the two-weeks of frigid weather and snow in the eastern U.S. was “very much consistent with our expectations of the response of weather dynamics to human-caused climate change.”
