Al Gore: ‘Bitter cold’ is ‘exactly what we should expect from the climate crisis’

Former Vice President Al Gore has weighed in on the record cold and snow in the U.S. “It’s bitter cold in parts of the US, but climate scientist Dr. Michael Mann explains that’s exactly what we should expect from the climate crisis,” Gore wrote on January 4 on Twitter.

Gore linked to one of his organizations’ articles on the brutal winter weather written by Climategate professor Michael Mann: The Climate Reality Project:

Failed Amstrup polar bear predictions have climate change community in a panic

Polar bear experts who falsely predicted that roughly 17,300 polar bears would be dead by now (given sea ice conditions since 2007) have realized their failure has not only kicked their own credibility to the curb, it has taken with it the reputations of their climate change colleagues.

This has left many folks unhappy about the toppling of this important global warming icon but ironically, consensus polar bear experts and climate scientists (and their supporters) were the ones who set up the polar bear as a proxy for AGW in the first place.

The Frozen U.S. Is Paying a Terrible Price for Green Lies

The Northeastern U.S. is experiencing record-breaking cold. Even the very sharks are dying as they swim.

Happily, the New York Times is here to put it all in context. It’s all further evidence of global warming, of course!

All is ‘explained’ in a story headed “Why so cold? Climate Change May Be Part of the Answer”:

Why Killing Obama’s Clean Power Plan Is No Simple Task

This month marks the end of the formal public comment period on the current administration’s proposal to repeal an overarching environmental regulation, which critics contend would add substantial costs to electricity.

The Environmental Protection Agency announced in October it intended to repeal the so-called Clean Power Plan, proposed by Barack Obama’s administration.

New England Facing A Winter Energy Crisis That Was Largely Preventable

While New England’s power grid operator predicted it would have enough energy supplies to meet demand this winter, it admitted there could be problems if record-low temperatures set in.

“While New England has adequate capacity resources to meet projected demand, a continuing concern involves the availability of fuel for those power plants to generate electricity when needed,” grid operator ISO New England reported in November.

Harvey et al. attack article mum on real selection process for polar bear papers used in their analysis

The Harvey et al. Bioscience article that attacks this blog and others that link to it — a veritable tantrum paper that took 14 people to write— included a sciency-looking analysis of peer-reviewed articles said to have been retrieved by the database “Web of Science” using the search terms “polar bear” and “sea ice.”

Other critics have pointed out that the Harvey paper used 92 such references:

“Of the 92 papers included in the study, 6 are labeled ‘controversial.’ Of the remaining 86, 60 are authored or co-authored by Stirling or Amstrup, or Derocher. That is, close to 70% (69.76%) of the so-called ‘majority-view’ papers are from just three people, 2 of whom wrote the attack paper themselves.” [Shub Niggurath, crossposted at Climate Scepticism, 14 December 2017]

Eco-terrorist attacks on energy infrastructure on tap for 2018

Determined to disrupt the interstate transport of oil and natural gas throughout the United States, a network of environmental activists is openly threatening to resort to sabotage to achieve their ends.

And having let their intentions be known, they are crying foul now that law enforcement officials are taking their threats seriously.

Report Makes Lofty Claim That Earth Will Become A Desert Without Paris Deal

A large portion of Earth will be covered in desert wastelands if the world does not meet the goals of the Paris climate deal, according to a research group with a history of making dubious claims.

More than 25 percent of the world’s population will be living in a drought and growing desertification if global temperatures increase 2 degrees Celsius by 2050, reads a report published Monday in the journal Nature Climate Change.

Warmist fear-mongers go after women and apologetic husbands

Now that the “end of snow” has proven to be a bust, warmist fear-mongers are going low and attacking the tranquility of marital relations.

The global warming con game has not delivered on the apocalyptic predictions that scared people into support of more government power over the economy.  Remember the “end of snow”?

Because warmism is a scientific theory based on computer models that lack hard data support and therefore fabricates (“adjusts”) actual temperatures to make them appear to conform to the theory, all the Warmists needed to do was fiddle with their models and rebrand it as “climate change” to claim that “global warming can mean harsher winter weather.”
