Liberal Billionaire Falsely Claimed He Didn’t Promote Global Warming Investigations Into Exxon

steyer_tomIt turns out liberal billionaire Tom Steyer’s environmental super PAC was totally involved in promoting investigations into ExxonMobil and global warming skeptics by state attorneys general.

“It’s not something that Tom personally is pushing, though some of our teams on the ground have participated in rallies or events to support our coalition partners,” a spokeswoman for NextGen Climate Action told Politico.

NextGen, Steyer’s super PAC, admitted to backing investigations by New York AG Eric Schneiderman into Exxon over its stance on global warming. The admission came just one day after Steyer told Politico “[w]e’re definitely not pushing this thing.”

“We are not part of this effort,” Steyer said.

Well, that turned out not to be exactly true. The Washington Free Beacon did some digging and found NextGen “has repeatedly promoted the effort and attempted to enlist federal and state officials in efforts to bring charges against Exxon.”

Schneiderman began investigating Exxon in November to see if the company was misrepresenting to shareholders the impacts global warming and climate regulations could have on its operations.

Let’s see now whose wallet is thicker Exxon’s or Steyer’s ?
Didn’t Schneiderman go trolling to Steyer for money dangling Exxon as bait ?
The Washington Free Beacon found NextGen “has repeatedly promoted the effort and attempted to enlist federal and state officials in efforts to bring charges against Exxon .” Who knew ? Why would a hedge fund Billionaire’s company allegedly go single out one of the largest companies in the energy sector as a target ? Short sell , discredit, defame , distress an asset , social justice ? . And the billionaire had no knowledge ? Really ?
Why would Next Gen seek to enlist Federal and State officials at all ? If this were true why would a private company go to government to request assistance to launch attacks on competitors ? Which government people ?
Voters are fed up with government corrupted by wealthy donor lobby .
If the shareholders of Exxon sit back and take this type of alleged crap they can expect more .
How does a company allegedly make a coordinated effort to harm Exxon’s reputation and the company founder “is not personally pushing ” ? Next Gen better have deep pockets if any of this true . It will make political donations chump change .

Conspiring with government bureaucrat’s with the intent to harm someone’s reputation and business interests is worse than any RICO allegations and proven actions should be treated the same way. Who are the ” coalition partners ” ?
