It’s Official: Falling Carbon Emissions In US Have Little To Do With EPA Regulations

frackingScientists found that American carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions fell again for the third straight year because of hydraulic fracturing — or “fracking” — and not environmental regulations, according to new data.

Early projections from researchers at the Global Carbon Project found that global emissions will only rise by about 0.2 percent relative to last year, largely because U.S. CO2 emissions declined by 2.6 percent in 2015 and are expected to fall an additional 1.7 percent this year. This dramatic shift can be mostly attributed to fracking.

America’s CO2 emissions have fallen by 12 percent since their high in 2005. Fracking is the primary reason for the decline in American CO2 emissions, and not the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), according to reports published by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). One of these reports attributes falling CO2 emissions to “decreased use of coal and the increased use of natural gas for electricity generation.”

Natural gas emits about half the CO2 of coal power, and is already cheaper than coal in many locations due to fracking. The EIA estimates roughly 68 percent of the falling CO2 emissions are due to the switch from coal to natural gas.

Fracking has been good for the planet by sharply reducing CO2 emissions, according to President Barack Obama’s Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz .

“The increased production of oil and natural gas in the United States has, obviously, been a major story in terms of our economy, and also our environment,” Moniz said at an event in Seattle. “The natural gas boom, in particular, has led to the displacement of high-carbon coal with low-carbon natural gas producing fewer [carbon dioxide] emissions.”

What oh what are the lobbyists leaches going to do when the EPA swamp is drained .
Any contacts or “grants ” given to The EPA friends need to end retroactively and be canceled going forward . Any department that has been infiltrated like the EPA needs to be shut down as a clear message illustrating these people work for the public interest .
The EPA is an example of how a good idea turns to crap when money is handed out to lobbyists that turn around and write regulations rubber stamped by a President beholding to $$ Billionaires .
It isn’t good enough to just repeal the thousands of EPA regulations aided and abetted by a President legislation has to ensure none of them get through again without elected members of Congress approval .
The EPA should be rolled into another department that is accountable for economic issues and not just a regulation machine designed to ruin the USA economy.
Clean air ,clean water and preservation of natural habit are in everyone’s interest
but a country with a poor economy will sacrifice all of those things as examples all over the world show .
The arrogant disrespect of the role of Congress as encouraged by the outgoing President needs to get fixed to restore the publics trust in government .
While the offshoring off USA manufacturing has continued for decades the bloated EPA has grown to over 15,000 employees further hollowing out the USA economy as it crushes industries with regulation and distain for the viability of the USA economy .
Take America Back is overdue but at least its about to happen .

Now only if atmospheric CO2 had anything to do with climate change this would be news. All the historical evidence shows – first global temperature goes up, then CO2 follows millennia later. But hey, why let facts get in the way of an erroneous hypothesis of global warming.
