Green monies up in smoke, LITERALLY!! "More than 100 firefighters are battling a 'severe' blaze at Europe's biggest biomass power station after a fire started in a fuel storage area this morning." www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2107082/Tilbury-Fire-100-firefighters-tackle-huge-blaze-Europes-biggest-biomass-power-station.html

"Fuel storage area"= woodpile!!!

"The 'green' station was recently converted from a coal-fired power station to run on 100 per cent renewable biomass fuel from wood pellets as part of the UK's bid to meet climate change targets... It is believed the blaze started in a fuel storage area containing 4,000 tonnes of crushed wood."

So let me guess... could the fire have been caused by anaerobic decomposition of the 'biomass'? Same as what happened to Toronto Ontario's Ashbridges Bay pelletization operation? (at a cost of $23 million, NEVER TO BE REBUILT). Like a horse manure pile is also apt to do???

Nahhhhhhhh, we're always told green is cutting edge science and technology.*

*right now 10,000 farmers are shaking their heads.

No fear UK's Kenyan rainmakers are here to extinguish the blaze! "A project in western Kenya to help indigenous Nganyi rainmakers, who were being undermined by extreme weather conditions caused by changes in the climate, was launched in 2008 as part of a £25 million climate change adaptation programme funded by Dfid."

"The project aimed to bring the rainmakers together with Government meteorologists to produce a 'consensus forecast'... using a combination of satellite data and computer models and traditional techniques such as observing insects, flowers and pot blowing, where herbs are placed into a pot buried in the ground which the rainmaker blows into through a pipe, listening for coming winds." www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/environment/climatechange/9090830/Foreign-aid-cash-spent-tackling-climate-change.html

Waaaaaiiiiiittttt a minit... who is the creationist flat earth faction here??

Thanks Britain... for all of your tax dollars!

Quoting Red Jeff:
"A project in western Kenya to help indigenous Nganyi rainmakers, who were being undermined by extreme weather conditions caused by changes in the climate..."

I read this yesterday. I think what is really undermining the rainmakers is their inability to actually produce any rain. But maybe I am wrong, and maybe we should consult the chicken entrails models first!

Way to go IPCC! Congratulations on yet another consensus!

So how many times did the piles of coal catch fire and burn up the plant? Is that green smoke coming from the wood pellets?

In the comments it says that the pellets came from the US. How efficient!

I hear the new health care program is going to feature leaches and, and this guy...

Obama to Cut Healthcare Benefits for Active Duty and Retired US Military

The Obama administration’s proposed defense budget calls for military families and retirees to pay sharply more for their healthcare, while leaving unionized civilian defense workers’ benefits untouched. The proposal is causing a major rift within the Pentagon, according to U.S. officials. Several congressional aides suggested the move is designed to increase the enrollment in Obamacare’s state-run insurance exchanges.

freebeacon.com/trashing-tricare/

This SOB stole my military widow mother's retirement fund when he handed GM over to the unions, she lost her entire investment. Allof it. So Obama could buy more votes from the union. Now this lowlife is going to force her to pay more for her healthcare. Unlike union members, my mother does not get a pay raise each year to match inflation.

What is the penalty for treason again?

AGU President’s message

We must remain committed to scientific integrity

27 February 2012

During the third week of February our global community of Earth and space scientists witnessed the shocking fall from grace of an accomplished AGU member who betrayed the principles of scientific integrity. In doing so he compromised AGU’s credibility as a scientific society, weakened the public’s trust in scientists, and produced fresh fuel for the unproductive and seemingly endless ideological firestorm surrounding the reality of the Earth’s changing climate.

Heartland Institute President Debunks Fakegate Memo

FEBRUARY 27, 2012 – The Heartland Institute today released an analysis of the fake “climate strategy” memo circulated by Pacific Institute President Peter Gleick to fellow environmental activists and journalists on February 14, 2012.

The analysis, written by Heartland President Joseph Bast, refutes the most damaging claims that appear in the forged memo:

The Charles G. Koch Foundation does not fund Heartland’s climate change efforts and did not contribute $200,000 in 2011. The foundation has issued a statement confirming that its 2011 gift of $25,000 – its first to Heartland in ten years – was earmarked for a health care reform project.

“[D]issuading teachers from teaching science” is not and never has been Heartland’s goal. Heartland is working with highly qualified and respected experts to create educational material on global warming suitable for K-12 students that isn’t alarmist or overtly political.

Fakegate: DeSmogBlog’s epic fail

You almost have to feel sorry for the folks at DeSmogBlog.

Their moment of glory after they revealed the Heartland Institute’s documents took only days to blow up in their faces, and they’ve been playing defense ever since.

Brendan DeMille is upset that the shocking admission from a once-respected scientist that he committed fraud to obtain the documents became the story, instead of the somewhat more mundane fact that an ideological entity supported people of similar ideology:

The debate about what Gleick did to acquire the internal documents from Heartland will surely rage on. It will make good fodder for university students in ethics and journalism classes for years to come. But as Republic Report points out, it is hardly the most vital aspect of the story for mainstream media outlets to prioritize coverage on right now. That is, if the mainstream media are truly reporting what’s in the public interest, rather than chasing advertising revenue through scandal-mongering.

Note to Brendan – when the FBI is called in to investigate your source, it is the story.

Here we go agin folks.

Warmest winter since time began, BBC weather.

Global warming is back, causing a reduction in Arctic sea ice, result = cold winters in the UK Daily Mail.

The warmists are crawling out of their dirty little hibernation holes.

Expect more scare stories in the months to come.

Business as usual.

I just got a love note from Suzi-Q...

Hook your family on sustainable seafood
David Suzuki Foundation to you - 2 hrs ago

"Serving fish you can be proud of will make you happy. “Like” the Be Happy Fish page on Facebook and share that happiness."

The fish of which I am not proud get thrown back, and not served. What is the benefit of fish being happy anyway? :o

Why can't this twit stay out of other people's business. He is much worse than any Bible thumper that I have ever seen.

We would all be better off if Suzi-Q went and slept with the happy fishes.
